So, I've never used a GUO and am thinking about using one in an upcoming 2000 pt. game. I was wondering if you all had any tips. I was thinking about making him a 4th level caster since Nurgle has some pretty nasty spells, but I'm really worried about miscasts. Tzeentch at least has some magic items that can minimize those. I also like him with the Nurgling Infestation gift.
My general thoughts were that I would put him, a unit of Nurglings, and maybe a unit of plaguebearers in the center of the field as my anvil. And then some flankers and flesh hounds as my hammers on the flanks. I'd also pump up my magic phase with some horrors and a Tzeench Herald.
The only real thing I'm worried about with him is if he gets stuck in combat alone combat res would really hurt him, and then some bad miscasts could mess him up.
Any thoughts? Any tips? I'll be playing Dark Elves if that makes any difference.
Personally I use a LVL 3/4 (depending on how many points you're willing to use) Great Unclean One with balesword and noxious vapours. This build i find to be very effective in most aspects of play, but is especially good at killing those pesky steam tanks and high wound creatures or characters -wounding automatically, D6 wounds per hit- whats not to love!? Hope I've helped!
