500 Point Combat Patrol Posibly New Dark Eldar Player

So, Long story short, there's an escalation league going on in my local store and it's starting off with a 500 point combat patrol. The only requirements are one troop, no named, special, or unique characters, no models with 3 wounds, and no vehicles with armor 12+ (12 is allowed for dedicated only). You can have one of any slot, except troops which is max 3, and you get one "swing" slot, which basically means it can be anything. My crazy new army ADD has taken me to look at Dark Eldar and Reavers in particular, and I feel that this is a perfect opportunity to possibly start this and I might be able to get a bikes for cheap if all goes well. In the long run, I really like the idea of dropping a Webway Portal and having Reavers fly out of it with their bladevines, but sadly can't do that with these particular restrictions (next tier!). Anyway, here's the list I threw together:

    Kabalite Warriors x10 - 185
    Dark lance
    Raider with Nightshields

    Reaver Jetbikes - x6 156
    Heat Lance x2

    Reaver Jetbikes - x6 156
    Heat Lance x2

    Total: 497

Honestly, it seems pretty straight forward and capable enough as well as looking like something that might actually be out on patrol.

Any thoughts or advice? Feel free to go on about a bike themed list at higher values as well.

So, then you have your troop, your fast attack and your "swing" is another fast attack?

The list looks pretty solid, though it will be difficult for that dark lance to fire if you keep the raider moving, and if the raider ISN'T moving, then it isn't getting its jink save. If you decide to keep that raider stationary, find it some cover to hug. One nice thing about raiders is that, if you are looking at the front, there is very little actual hull that needs hiding. So, if you find a nice ruined wall or something to snuggle up to in deployment, you should do fine. ^_^

Alternatively, you could swap the dark lance for a splinter cannon and blaster, which would give the squad more flexibility and still keep a lance in there.

Yea, swing slot is fast attack in this case. I realized that bit with the Lance some time after the fact and planned on switching to a Splinter Cannon/Blaster and Splinter Racks because the bikes have enough anti-vehicle for this style of game, anyway. Actually, bikes are really good in this style and also really fit the whole combat patrol thing, so that's a win/win in my book. =D

I feel this sets up a good platform to also progress up to 1000 points. Another squad of reavers, a Homunculous with WWP and an ancient build for combat in a squad of 10 witches. Them and two squads of reavers start back in reserve while the remaining reaver squad is given a pain token before he splits and drop the portal. There are other things I can do that might be better, but that's something I can do with a bunch of reaver boxes and a battleforce. I'd like to fit a Voidraven/Razorwing in there somewhere as well, but we'll see. Another thing I could do is run a Baron list filled with Reavers and Hellions that fly out of WWPs. I think that would be fun as hell.

Anyway, I was worried no one would post anything, so thanks a lot. Then again, I guess there's not much to talk about with 500 points is there? =P
