Rep Power: 29 ![]() | Anyways my 1000 point Dark Eldar list is based around shooting from raiders. 4x haemonculis with destructors 120 pts. 4x raider squads 9 guys,1 shredder and splinter cannon 648 pts. 4x raiders with dark lances and scaling nets 2x ravagers with dark lances 210 pts(or a combo of 1 with all dark lances and 1 with all disentegrators 220 pts. in that case.) 978 points or 993 points with the combo. How does this list look? any suggestions will be appreciated. |

in all honesty, i dont see a particular power-unit in the list, which is essential in anything about 500-750 points (where a unit of terminators, big unit of battlesuits, warriors etc are found).. your 2 ravagers will easly crush any armour he has... but then, will he have that many points of armour for you to destroy? a single ravager, and use the other to upgrade a raider squad to a wych squad on raider will give you a little more power.. and personally even just a dracon will do wonders when equiped with combat drugs, an agoniser, or even just poisoned blades... by the looks of it, your army can survive and win as it is, however i do feel that the distinct need for mobility and combat against heavily armoured opponents will cause you alot of trouble... drop the shredders for more splinter cannons, if your not planning on chargin with warriors lower the unit size (after all, while mounted on a raider you only really want to be shooting your splinter cannons anyway), and get something that'll do the damage when you face inevitable combat... |

Welcome to the forums, I suggest you have a read around the threads to get an insight into tactics and how DE should be played. As was said before you don't have a power HTH unit. warriors are fine though. With smaller armies like this yours is fine. Quote:

I agree with dizzie about the need for blasters, they are exceptional, and in very few instances are shredders better, these exceptional circumstances do not include any of the armies you currently face. shredders have no AP. without posting any exact stats for the damaging potential of a shredder to equal that of a blaster against say your regualar MEQ man, 4/5 of those opponents, you need to hit 3 models. Which is generally the max you will get, the regualar is about 2. but i am really interested in the warriors and haemonoculi combo's how do they work for you? it is somehting that i have toyed with the idea for a long time, but i just dont get around to having enough games to find out if its really that powerful. i would also give the sybrites punishers for the inevitable counter charge. same with the haemos. their scissor hands may not be great against most opponents, but for the points... well... its not too bad. you currently have 4 dl's on your raiders. i think you are packing enough of a punch there, so change your ravagers over to dissies and your enemy heavy troops with really feel the pinch! they are also not bad vs light transports, so keep that in mind. Other than that i like the list as it is a bit different and similar to something that i want to try out.

Well the combo was just to put the 4 haemonculus with the 4 raider squads and have him shoot from the raider, but froming reading i dont think it is as great as a i thought it was.

Its your death our raiders can go down with bolter fire. Infact anything that has a str 4 weapon is gonna get our raiders pretty easy when your up that close. Raiders as i said earlier should only be used to deliver your cargo, then back off to support fire. Ravagers are better cause of the 11, the extra +1 on amour makes rapid fire weapons useless against them, however i can't see why you would want to get ravagers that close. Theres a tactic I use which is quite good for heamie flamers. I use footslogging warriors 13-15 men all the upgrades, blasters SC's and sebaryte with poisoned blades. costs the same as a raider squad. You get heamies on skyboards and hide them behind the warriors until you close enough to terrorise a unit. with 12" movement of the heamies, they can't be shot at behind warriors and move infront of warriors just before the charge to cause a big killy death. Majority of the time the warriors don't need to charge but its best to protect that heamy by charging, Your opponent can't shoot through combat. Not going too much into this i think i have wrote this almost every army thread over the last week, obsessed!!!!!
