Memorable dark eldar moments in your games!

After a game tonight against my friends tyranid army using the new codex, it got me thinking about how many times things have happened with my army that have left the opponent in shock! So I would like to share them, and hopefully will hear some of you guys stories

All my stories seem to revolve around 3 units, either wyches, and archon, or a ravager! Im gonna post my favourite moment with each.

My Archon! Tonight this happened. My friend was using a tyranid army, and included 2 screamer killer carnifex's. My archon plus retiune of 5 incubi was on a raider which he managed to get a lucky shot on, and it was blown up in turn 1. Leaving them foot slogging. Due to some poor rolling on my part, I lost 5 incubi to fire from varios weak tyranids that should not kill incubi! Leaving my archon alone.
I had decided not to take drugs on my archon as I was tight on points (wanted to try out a scourge squad) so he jsut had an agoniser and shadow field. He got charged by a screamer killer with 3 wounds remaining. My archon managed to get 4 hits, followed by 3 wounds with the agoniser, killing the carnifex! Been confident, I then charged the other screamer killer in my turn, taking off 2 wounds, and luckily saving the ones inflicted on me. Followed by killing the fex in the next turn. Finishing the game off by then charging into a squad of genestealers that had flanked my warriors, and holding them off until the end of the game!
It honestly felt like an amazing acomplishment

Shorter story now, my ravager! People seem to under estimate them. Especially my friend who sat his long fangs right in its line of fire, expecting them to shrug off a volley of disintegrator fire. He lost every model in the unit in 1 round of fire from it. His expression upon realising he wasnt getting saving throws was priceless! That was the day he realised even models in power armour need to use cover still.

And my favourite, my wyches. They annoy people over and over by just not dying. I was playing against eldar and my opponent was saying how they wouldnt stand a chance against his harlequins. He was certain of this. He caught me off guard and charged my 10 strong wyche squad. I took 1 casualty in the combat, and he lost all but 1 harlequin.

People seem to under estimate my army a lot, and even after winning countless games with my kabal, it still shocks me sometimes with just how powerful some units are and what they are capable of! I still think a pimped out archon is the hardest single unit available in all of 40k!

If only mandrakes and other units were as good!

My best stories all involve wyches.
In one game against an Eldar friend, a single squad of 8 wyches took out a squad of guardians, survived a bladestorm, killed the avenger unit and the attached autarch, then the succubus (the only remaining squad member) charged his jetbikes and killed them, finally dying to sniper fire from his pathfinders.
In one game against a Tau friend, my lone succubus killed a squad of crysis suits and a squad of fire warriors before dying to a squad of kroot.

I have also flamed several squads into falling back using a haemonculus with a destructor, but nothing really stands out.

My Archite was high on vitae after running down some basic csm's when Abaddon teleported in. I decided to charge Abaddon for some 1 vs.1 action and my Archite laid 2 wounds on him in the first round and deflected all his hits with her shadow field. The next round I only put 1 wound on him and again, the shadowfield deflected all. In the next round the Archite throttled Abaddon and left my opponent speachless except for the word "cheesy".

Again my Archite was high on vitae and took out a war-walker squadron on the charge.

My Archon died to overdose drugs just before charging into a squad of Tau Fire warriors.

A lone wych with a blaster sitting in cover claiming an objective that shoots down a nearby wave serpent then destroys another that tried to tank-shock her off the objective.

A Talos that lost a wound when entering difficult terrain, then lost another when charged its target then died when it consolidated.

A lone Dracite that killed a chaplain on a bike, 3 bikes and an assault bike - the Dracite was fieldless.

Dracon took out 800 points of eldar by himself before overdosing trying to take down a falcon. Rest of the army did zip.

My memorable moments also involve Archite, Wyches and Ravager (not surprising since I prefer Wych Cult).

In general the facial expression of a power-player opponent is priceless when he discovers that this completely outdated Codex still packs some nice surprises: especially after he charges in with his Elite CC unit and discovers it to be decimated by the Archite and some wyches

Coolest thing so far is the Archite walking about and eating all Necrons alive because they can't flee him, which resulted in a nice poof: phase out. "We'll be back" tends to lose it's purpose when sqauds die on the initial charge ^_^

Destroyers failing morale tests did help too, which only proves how scary Dark Eldar really are: even robots shit their pants when they meet the Dark Matter!

That must have been some horrible rolling on his part, and some amazing saving on yours! That's pretty nuts. But when you have something like Wyches that can counter a lot of the advantage of harlequins, their T3 5++ save don't do much of anything to protect them.

Just so you know Kwi, consolidation doesn't trigger a dangerous terrain test (pg. 40 ).

As for some of my own memorable moments, I can think of two involving my Archon:

In the first game I ever played with my Dark Eldar, in his first assault ever, my archon and squad were ready to charge a squad of disembarked Chaos Marines. I go to roll for his 3 drugs-- and get triple 5's. Dead from a heart attack in his first ever assault.

Just yesterday we had a 16k a side Apoc game, and the Archon leading my Splinter Raid Force got his raider shot down by a drop pod of Salamanders. Then a Flank Marching Linebreaker Squadron came in and fired on the disembarked squad, killing the Archon's retinue (in retrospect, the marine player lied to me about the Linebreakers ignoring cover saves). So out for a little revenge, my lone archon made his way over to the Tac squad and multiple assaulted them and a nearby pair of Death Cult Assassins. The marine player just had this perfect response of "What, you're gonna kill me with just one model?" Needless to say they didn't survive past their next assault phase.

    Edit:

Actually, another memorable moment from the Apoc game was my dark lance shooting. Usually I roll like my lances are low on batteries-- if there are two lances in a squad with BS4 I'm pretty much guaranteed to always miss one. Yesterday though, I was really hot, my splinter raid force swooped in behind enemy lines on turn one and unloaded on bastions and landraiders. Something like 13 lance/blaster shots netted me 5 destroyed results-- all of which were negated by cover saves from a Force Field Generator asset. It was the most awesome and horribly irritating experience I think I've ever had with my dark lances.

I havent had too many yet. First game ever my Ravager landed 3 Disintigrator shots without scatter first round, wiping out most of a tactical marine squad. My friend wasn't too happy with that =p.

My Wyches wiped the floor with some Nid Warriors (4th ed), and had rolled always strike first so my friends 8 initiative warrior (bioplasma?) never got to do anything lol.

Now a bad one for Wyches....opponent takes initiative (i've lost that twice in two games now ), shoots the raider down, I lose 4 of the 6 riding in it to the explosion.

    That was annoying.

I feel your pain Zidi, this made me incline to keeping everything in reserve and never going for the first turn. This way you can be sure your Raiders can claim at least 4+ cover due to flat out movement. And you negate the advantage of 1 turn shooting from your opponent.

I've lost 3 Initiatives in a row now

It's rather hard to beat an imperial mech army (2 russ, 2 Chimera,3 Armor Sents) when they seize init and take down 5 of your 9 lances =/

Im pretty sure everything in my army fails hard except my archon who always does amazing things.

High on drugs, she assaults a squad of 3 Leman Russ tanks. All 3 are destroyed on the charge.

High on drugs, she assaults Ghazghkull, getting a laugh from the ork player. Ghaz died in one round.

Same thing, except replace Ghaz with Abaddon.

And my favorite moment came against a unit that wasn't even as strong but the line the guy used was priceless in my opinion.

Black Templar player... Assaults my lone archon with some marines and the emperors champion after she just killed 10 other marines. I take +1A, +1S, reroll because I still have all 3 wounds and my shadow field up, and am just fine.

He gives me a huge grin and goes "this is the emperors champion, he is the slayer of champions, so he gets to move into base to base with your archon and fight her." I'm thinking... uhhh ok... I ask if that means I can put my attacks into that guy, he says yes. A few dice rolls later... uhh you need to make 5 invul saves. My archon just went ahead and took the slayer of champions title from him.

Just makes me laugh because I can picture this marine in shining power armor, walking forward as the other marines step aside and kneel before him as he approaches some 90 pound elf girl in a black dress wielding a giant power halberd. 30 seconds later she's on top of him clawing through his armor to eat both of his hearts.
