    New Conversion Possibilities

I was looking at the new releases on the GW site today and noticed a few models in the new Vampire Count releases that'd make for some interesting conversion possibilities.

The Isabella Von Carstein model would make a great Lady Malys with a head and weapon swaps, and I think she's posed a little more dynamically than the DE Lhamian. (Would also be good for a female Sliscus/Vect/etc.).

The Crypt Horrors from the Vargheist/Crypt Horror boxed set look like they'd make pretty decent Grotesques with some added leftover bits that I'm sure most of us have lying around. It's not much cheaper than buying 3 Grots, but they have different poses and are plastic. I think I'm actually gonna do this so I'll put up pics when I get a chance (they also look like they'd make solid Clawed Fiends more or less as is, but I don't think anyone actually uses those haha)

The Coven Throne/Mortis Engine look like it has some interesting bits for making a Dais of Destruction as well, but it's a pretty expensive kit so thats definitely one to wait for till the bits start to hit Ebay.

If anyone else has any cool conversion ideas to add, feel free.

The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. Bring them understanding of the power of ourselves through our strength and their fear. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all fragments will be smashed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be consumed

I like the idea regarding Isabella von Carstein as Lady Malys, and I think the Crypt Horrors as Grotesques can work too. I myself converted three Beastmen Minotaurs from Warhammer Fantasy into Grotesques, I shall try to get some pics up.

If i'm not mistaken the talos kit comes with about 4 or 5 heads - bolt them onto those crypt horrors and you really do have a unit of grotesques. I'd seriously consider this if I wanted grotesques (I actually like the current grotesque models, but the single pose is beyond stupid).

That's actually more or less my plan. I picked up the 2 Island of Blood Rat Ogres off ebay a while back for under $10. They're a bit bulkier than the Crypt Horrors so I'm going to use them as Aberrrations. So Talos box + 2 boxes of Crypt horrors + 2 IoB Rat Ogres = 8 Grots for under $150 (might need to grab some extra talos heads off ebay). Which is both cheaper than the Grot models and will prob look better. Now I just need to figure out how to use them haha.

Cheer Bugs, I was thinking the same when I saw the Crypt Horrors but the Isabella call is a very good one.
I have myself reserved some IoB Rat Ogres so thank you very much for the hint to use those as abberations, in this way they will stand out better.
