I've been wondering what Beastmasters will work well with, because I really love the models and I would love to field them but I have no idea what to kit them out with or what type of an army list they would function well in.

I've been wondering what Beastmasters will work well with, because I really love the models and I would love to field them but I have no idea what to kit them out with or what type of an army list they would function well in.

the problem with beastmasters is they have a 12 inch assault which nothing else in the codex does so it can be hard to keep up. Pairing Beastmasters up with things with phantasm grenade launchers for assaulting things in cover (Baron, Custom Archon) seems to be the most advantageous. Especially since the Baron also gives stealth and the +1 roll. The custom archon can be a great option since you can give him haywire grenades (mandatory take), a blaster, or a blast pistol (to help against vehicles/dreads). Another interesting option some people play is Lady Malys since she has quite a few power weapon attacks (lacking in beast master dept) and helps them from psychic powers (great against Eldar, GK, or SW Living Lightning). My personal choice is the Baron because he's just so point efficient for what you get and his high Strength attacks on the charge can be very helpful.
As far as how to kit out the beastmasters I would say DE best options are:
3 beastmasters, 4 Razorwing, 5 khymera = 156 points
5 beastmasters, 6 Razorwing, 10 khymera = 270 points

this was covered quite recently here (Beast Builds)
If you have any questions then feel free to ask, also i would recommend the advanced search, people get cranky when the same topic pops up again so soon without good reason(Yes laziness doesn't count) hope this helps![]()
If you're always worried about crushing the ants beneath you...you won't be able to walk.
Thanks for the link and the advice, I'm kinda new to the forums so I had no idea how to use the advanced search option, or that this had been previously covered.
