I still think the best setup for the BG is 18 BG, ASF banner, Champion has the Crimson Death. I guess you're planning on taking your licks on the charge with BG and hoping the stubborn 9 works for you (undead will ruin this) and then smacking them in the second round of combat. I can see someone throwing a cheap unit of fast cav into your flank of corsairs and then you having to pursue them off the board or into some terrain, keeping them out of the game for 2 turns. While the potential is there, I'm afraid of the downside which can be exploited so easily from frenzy. You'll either get into combat on your terms and win, or you'll get wiped off the board. Kind of an all or nothing list. I could be wrong though, this is all theory as the book hasn't hit the shelves or tables yet inour area.
im my terms id place corsairs in the middle bettween witches and BG to avoid the frenzy... not that i say ive played as DE or seen there new book but thats a strategy that ive seen work agains me. And boy those stupid plague monks from skaven piss me off XD
I think he means having the corsairs between the BG and Witches with the corsairs slightly positioned a couple of inches behind the other 2. that way your opponent would have to "run the gauntlet" to get to them and even if the corsairs were drawn out, they still wouldn't expose their flank that much. For some reason I thought the witches were frenzied too, but I can't find anything to support that. Frenzy has gotten so rare these days with the demon redux that you hardly ever see/play against it.
exactly wat he said XD. and boy u got loads of armies there XD
Witch Elves are Frenzied, got the book next to me.
Um, you are right with the frenzied problem, so I took out 1 unit of 10 RxB warriors and 8 Witches & a banner plus 1 dispel scroll... for 2x5 Dark Riders w/ RxBs. I hope this will turn out for the better As for the Blackguards, I will try using them as is and try them again with ASF in another list.
I think you should realy take the ASF banner for the black guard, since they are extreamly squishy, T3 with Heavy Armour is quite bad. Having the ASF banner your bound to do alot of damage if you have Kouran in there and maby even kill a hero if your lucky before the enemy gets to smack you back. I can see the benifit of AP banner since you will knock off 2 on there armour saves but if you get charged by knights your going to lose alot of guard, I dont think the banner will help them make there points back.
Witch Elves needs the ASF more than the Blackguards IMO, they are frenazy so they are easily bait charged and they have no armor... but then again, who uses Witch Elves
I tossed out alot of stuff and fit in a 3rd Sorceress and a War Hydra
