Hey all well I am just throwing together a list to play against chaos with on the weekend, it really is an 'all comers' list and I am interested in what you all think.
Dreadlord w/ Armour of Eternal Servitude, Ring of Darkness, shield, SDC, lance, coldone
Sorceress w/Tomb of Furion, Seal of Ghronde, extra level
2 x 10 Crossbowmen w/shield
20 Corsairs w/full command, Sea Serpent Standard
Assassin w/extra hand weapon, Touch of Death, Rune of Khaine
2 x 5 Darkriders w/repeater crossbow
7 Coldones w/full command, Banner of Coldblood, Null talisman
2 x Cold one Chariots
5 Shades w light armour
As you can see the army is pretty quick for the most part and the corsairs appear fairly weak and with frenzy they will more then likely get drawn out and appear vulnerable hopefully I can lure a charge onto them so my assassin can take some overpriced character down, that or shred a flanking unit to win me the combat. All shooting at the Cold ones is at half BS (i am not talking against chaos here) and I get magic resistance (1) on the unit too. So that should help. plus I can throw up to 78 S3 armour piercing shots a turn. Anyways thanks for reading and cheers for any comments,

Well, I have two things to complain about.
1. Your highborn. If you have the armour of darkness, why invest in both SDC and a shield? Furthermore, heavy armour + cold one + SDC + shield = 2+ armour save, 1+ for ranged. Instead, invest in a pendant of Khalaeth since nearly all chaos units have high strength.
2. I'm not sure about only fielding one large infantry unit, and corsairs of all there are. They have a lot of attacks, but not high strength or armour piercing so their attack can probably be stopped pretty easily. I'd like to invest in a unit of executioners as well.. or maybe a Black guard unit with the banner of murder.
2. Matricide is right here. Taking 1 unit of frenzied infantry is a bit of a risk. The good thing is that against chaos, you're going to be faster than he is most of the time anyway. I have a feeling that a unit of marauder horsemen with throwing axes will whittle this unit down the whole game or at least give you fits. Against a balanced opponent, these guys will never see combat.
Cheers guys well this is my thinking...
1.Ok matricide as buckero said it is the armour of eternal servitude and ring of darkness, all to protect him against most things and the coldones from shooting.
2.As for the frenzied unit of corsairs well they are bait. In my group of mates we have a chaos player, another dark elves, a high elf, an empire, a brettonian and a woodelf player and all of them have canny ways to draw out frenzied units just to smush them with a powerful charge (usually led by a general), I am playing on this by putting a juicy target out there and expecting it to be drawn out and hammered. The thing is there is that nasty assassin who strikes first with between 6 to 8 re-rollable, poisoned/killing blow attacks. Now it means is that I have a pretty decent chance to take out that killer character/flanking light cav/pair of great eagles and keeping my corsair unit from fleeing, setting everyone up for that 3D6 ld test charge my coldones want. Also I have 2 units of darkriders and a unit of shades that are there specifically to hunt fast cav and war machines. let alone the 20 crossbowmen and sorceress. Fast cav are my first targets in any game, mainly because i have been using them for 15yrs so i know what they can do.
Finally in my opinion you aren't a true Druchii noble unless you are riding a coldone.... that and the extra save is soooo worth it,
but a good player uses something that costs him very little to draw out your 200pt frenzied unit. And he will draw them out so that either they block your own counter charge or make that charge impossible to make. Either way, it sounds like you're flushing points down the drain that could be used to help your army. Corsairs aren't slaves and don't like being used inefficiently - that's not the Dark Elf Way!
just one quick note on your assassin, A successful poison attack is impossible to cause killing blow because the to wound dice will never be rolled. So if you want to successfully use killing blow you should trade poisoned attacks with black lotus.
