Dark elves have always been my favourite army right during the old edition but i started TK so took some time of from DE now ive just picked up the book and have had a look at the rules. I've never been a competetive player and to be honest never had a great list but i've come up with a list C&C welcome.
Master: HA, SDC, Shield, Cold one, Caledor's Bane 145
Sorceress: Lvl 2, Sacrificial dagger, tome of Furion 175
10 Crossbowmen 100
15 Warriors shields, FC 120
7 COK FC DK w/ pearl of infinite bleakness 254
As you can see im a big fan of chariots and have always been
If you don't think of yourself as competetive, then gain battle experience until you become
As for criticism..
1. Your master. I think personally that Caledor's bane possibly is the most overrated magic item of them all in the army book.. firstly, it's only 1 more S than a regular lance.. and no scaly skin saves? How often does that happen? And with 6S even a dragon only gets a 6+ save, I don't really think it's worth spending 30 points to remove that little chance. (especially since there are no dragons in 1000 pts.-games)
Instead I would take a regular lance and the imbalanced Pendant of khalaeth, a must-have in every army
2. This is entirely my opinion, but I don't think you have enough infantry for a sacrificial dagger, they're too valuable in points. Plus I think it's to be used when having several mages, so you can completely overwhelm the opponent with it.
3. In 7 units (if your characters go alone), 4 units suffer from stupidity. Dark elves cannot afford falling to stupidity more than once or maybe at the wrong time per game.. you get the problem? :/
Also, I think both 2 chariots and knights is too expensive when fielding just 1000 pts. When playing 2000+ pts. it's isn't quite as terrible if one or two units mess up, but if they do in a 1000 pts.-match everything can fail because of it. DE really need to be reliable as often as possible.
