I decided to put together a list centered around a unit of Executioners with the ASF banner. What I got looks promising, but needs some tweaking before I'll really be happy with it.
1500 pts Dark Elves:
Heroes: 500 pts
> Level 2
> 2 x Dispel Scroll
> Tome of Furion
> Seal of Ghrond
Death Hag [w/ Executioners]:
> BSB: Standard of Hag Graef
Core: 272 pts
20 x Dark Elf Warriors:
> Full command
5 x Dark Riders:
> Repeater Crossbows
Special: 408 pts
5 x Cold One Knights:
> Full command
> Standard of Slaughter
14 x Har Ganeth Executioners [7x2]:
> Full command
Total: 1355 pts
That leaves 145 pts left to play with. This is just about enough for an Assassin, but I think this army could use another unit instead. Feel free to argue for or against that point.
Another thought I had was giving the spearmen another rank and adding a unit of crossbows with shields for an even 1500 pts.
Yet another option is scraping 10ish pts together (maybe drop the Executioner's musician) to get another entire unit of Dark Elf Warriors w/ shields.
Of the three options, number three looks best to me since it puts another unit on the table to (hopefully) distract my opponnent form the Executioners who form the real threat. Speaking of which, I'm really pleased with their apparent effectiveness. 7 S6 attacks, plus a frenzied hag, plus ASF BSB, plus Witchbrew makes for a devistating unit no matter how you cut it.
On the whole, I'd like to get some sort of shooting protection in, maybe the Ring of Darkness, but I don't have any heroes that can take it. I'm also worried about war machines - Dark Riders might suffice. Magic is also a concern for me since most of the armies I play are pretty magic heavy (Skaven, HE, Chaos to name a few). I hope that 5 DD and 2 scrolls are enough.
Thanks for your time.
Common' people. throw me a bone.
looking at ur army i would drop the dispel scrolls on the second mage and get sacrifical dagger and darstar cloak for her. boost one squad of warriors to 25 so she can sacrifice 5 and still get full ranks. for ur mages cast dark power fisrt cuz most people will either dispel or let u get more PD. with points left over get a squad of 12 Xbows with nothing for some shooting power. everything else looks preety good to me
also if magic defence is a big concern then drop both mages and get a master with hydra blad and blood armor and another 1 with the ring of hotek and null talismon. this will leave u extra points to get wat u want. this is way better then 5 DD cuz double are miscats and most people will fear that. so keep most of army within 12inches and ull be safe i guarantee u
Hydra Blade? Daj spokój, przecież to tragedia... już lepiej jakąś porządną lancę.
Okay, AVS, time for ye...
At the beginning: sorry, that would be great, but Death Hag may not have Witchbrew. It Is for Hag's only. Squad Hags.
There is one Executonier not needed, you know, if Hag joins them, you have 15 models... you can drop one, it's whole 12 points. That a lot.
Arghhh! Give second level to the second Sorceressssssssss!
You could have one-more-Warriors-cheap-rank...
One more thing - machines can make loadsa Crap of your army. SHADES! AND Harpies. You have points. And shades are worth those with Great Weapons. Bah, they will eat every machine and shooting unit... and combined with CoK they will eat every line unit.
hydra blade jest dobry, ja gram zkolego i on ma highelfs ja zabijam jego jak niewiem i agree wid dire that shades are needed and really depends on wat army u face for wepon choice cuz i prefer more attack againts high elfs of WE etc... cuz u will get more wounds overall but this is jus a preferance
