well ive finally finished up my dark elfs or atleast wat i bought and the store is pulling a tounament where you pay 15 bucks or 10 if have membership(go me XD) and ive been able to beat my friend but he's a bit rubbish XD. so here it goes oh and winner gets all the money.

darkstar cloak or familer, sacrifical dagger
FC, shields( mage here so she can kill a little to get extra dice if needed)
musican, shields ( can protect flanks or get flank charge pretty handy)
5 harpies ( good flankers and siege machine killers)
AW ( honesly you all should know wat these bad boys can do)
FC,Attack first banner (forgot wat called, also mnaster here and we got a pwnage squad)
+d3 attacks and kill blow , AW

Your Sorc can only have 1 arcane item (Dispel Scrolls don't count), so stick with the Dagger. You may want the Pearl of Infinite Bleakness to keep your Warriors from panicking.
The Hydra Blade isn't necessary since BG put out plenty of attacks anyway. I like the Soulrender and Pendant with heavy armor and a sea dragon cloak. S6 in combat with a -4 save modifier, inverse ward, and 4+ armor.
I'd put a full command group in both spear units, but lose the shields on the unit to be sacrificed. There's no point paying for shields if you're just going to kill them all.
I'd give the Shades great weapons, it's only 5 points more and gives you S5! That's huge for going after Dwarf war machines.
You can get away with dropping down to 17 BG. Run them 6 wide and you should do plenty of damage.
Assassins are always good, I like Manbane and Rune of Khaine for cheapness, but KB can work if you have characters to hunt (especially VCs and TKs).
Overall it looks good. It's a tad light in the shooting department but I suppose we can't all use that much dakka You might want to look into a Hydra too for general awesomeness.

You have additional Sorceress, but she is not going to wreak havoc against magic-low armies... nor protect against magic-heavy, without scroll...
Master was already mentioned and I wold recommend same configuration, as well as this BG unit.
I don't think you are going to need 3 blocks of infantry, especially when two are SCRI in 1250 army. I think one block of spearmen with Sorceress and protecting assasin and shields + BG is enough. Instead, you would make great use of Dark Riders and maybe even Harpies.
You lack Rares. We have only two choices, but these are best units of their class in whole game, so I really think you should pick one or another... Even instead of these DR mentioned.
First off, this is a very strong and solid infantry army. You may want to reconsider a few things.
First, you have 2 fast and forward units, both both are small and lightly armored. There is little shooting to support them as they move forward. They may have trouble getting to warmachines before the troops hit combat.
Additionally you are rather infantry heavy, you may find yourself outmanuvered. 3 blocks of 20+ infantry can be a very tough battle line to adjust, especially when the enemy realizes that so many of your points are sitting in that blackguard unit. They are tough, but in the end they only have a 5+ save. You may want to consider the "Ring of Darkness" on your master to give them some protection.
ok the spearmen have shield becuase i will on kill them if i really need to. i faced a brett army that consited of

first off im gonna say some things
dark elf mages can pull of more magic then any other wizard in the game at the same point cost of gear and lvl. my mage took metal magic and i got 6, and 1 on speels and 2d6 armor thing killed off most knihghts before my bg finished em off.
i really like my master but i can see that my army will have drouble againts high toughness armys.
also i prefer heavy infantry over cavalry at this point cost cuz they are more reliable in my opinion.
my harpies can easily finish offf warmachines and my shades march blokcin deat XD.
at higher points costs im going to add som shooting to weaken strong units but at this poin i really wanted
so i massacred the bret army with only lossing about 10 spearmen, 15 BG and 2 harpies and all shades.
againts magic heavy armies im hoping to charge there wizard or the squad with harpies and shades on both side to atleast hold em off for one turn of magic .
oh and ty for pointing out the gear on sorceress ill jus swap the familer/darkstar cloak for another items,

oh i have a question about challenges, if i challenge can i pick who i challenge or does the enemy. im always confused about this
The person accepting the challenge choses who accepts.

But what are the chances of that happening
