1999 vs 1k empire + 1k ogres

Hi me and 2 friends are going to play a battle soon. I'm playing 1999pt with exception that I'm allowed to take 4 characters. I'm taking it up against 1k empire and 1k ogres.

I wanted to try out the cauldron so my list is a bit based upon that.

personally I would never field witches against a unit WITH ranged power, assuming he is using cannons.
[but with the cauldron they are not bad at all, your not going that shooty so why not dropping dark riders and one unit of harpies for the oh so strong war hydra?

I would like to add a War Hydra but under 2k I'm only allowed 1 rare. So I'd have to exchange it for my bolt throwers.

He will field warmachines I'm sure. But thats where my harpies come into play.

Also his detachments are targets for my harpies. And skirmish bowmen.

You do know that Assassins don't take up Hero slots right?

What is the Master supposed to be doing? I don't see any BG for him to run with. Stick him on a Cold One or a dark steed and give him full mundane armor and the Sword of Might.

I'd get rid of the Witch Elves altogether, they're too soft and the Corsairs do their job just as well. Instead, another unit of Knights will add some hitting power here. Also, another Sorceress would be useful as just 1 magic user isn't going to cut it.
