this is totaly my mates idea, but i thought i'd post on here. im new to WFB incase you want to know ( read my last threads apart from it was me just testing out idea's but thats k insit it? because tbh this is what the website is for... finding the right list.)
Master Warbanner hydra h armour sheild sea dragon cape 200pts
( general ) 80/90 pts depending on post below...
RxB 30 ( standard and a banner) 330pts
Gaurd x 14 warbanner greif 1 champion with crimson death 270 pts
Cold ones x 5 nothing. 135 pts
= 1005 points.
army has 2 core a general and -3 special meaning its legal.
my army is used as a single battalion with archery. i will use my gaurd to charge upfront with my cok's at the flank. i will then charge my gaurds into the front and my coks into the side. and if the enemy is close together then i will move on from 1 to the other killing them quickly. with a agile archery firing killing around 5- 15 every round of firing.
My Master with hydra banner will make every unit in the black gaurd formation have + 1 attack including himself and the general. meaning a total of: 3 strength 6 attacks, and 17 strength 4 attacks ( 4 poisend 8 ws 6 ) avaraging (on their own) around 9 kills on a T3 target armour save 4+ (around the average enemy infantry unit) meaning they have either 3 more spear attacks. or 0 normal attacks. meaning they will have to take ld test, if failed i would run down the unit hopefully with I7 master. and moving on to the next target! can be very effective against low toughness horde armies close together. not effective against higher toughness's ( 5 or more t) or 2+ armour saves
meaning my army is a fast moving combat-combat army with the archery taking off helping units. my only downside is harsh T low saves meaning enemy archery will be leathal.
Thankyou please comment

Are the RxBs all one unit, broken up into 2, or perhaps 3 units? It isn't clear at all from what you wrote.
What purpose does the death hag serve other than your required general? Wouldn't a master be better? Death hags are frenzied, so can be baited out of units.
Also, normally 1000 is a limit, not a suggestion. Getting into the habit of fudging points limits is not good.
All in all, much better than your first list. Still room for tweaks here and there.
Thanks i've been trying hard to find the best units.
The RxB's are split into 2 15 groups.
I looked at the hag because it is cheap. i want the benifits of the hydra banner but also have a general. i'd have 2 masters but i dont know if that is legal in the game
i dont normallly " fudge " the lists it was just me in a hurry. because i had to go out. all in all if there is a problem just - 1 RxB. aslong as there is more than 10 in a group it will be legal.
You can have the same generic character more than once. So if you wanted you could have 3 masters. Not that I am say you should do that.
The reason why death hags exist is for very specific reasons: the ability to take a cauldron of blood, and the ability to put a character in khainite units. If you don't have either of these needs in mind, then the master is superior.
Personally I don't recommend units of archers greater than 10-12. The reason being is they don't get to shoot unless they are all in one line, or in 2 lines on a hill. If they are in one line, then being more than 10 wide really messes with your deployment, and the guys on the end sometimes won't have the same fire arcs as the guys on the opposite. Also you don't always have hills. Another reason is if you lose your archer unit to a charge, then you aren't out as many points if you are a small unit. I would drop your command on the units of RxB, and break them into 3 units of 10. That way you have 3 units that can shoot at 3 targets. (and it is easier to deploy)
