Heres my 750 point army in anticipation of 8th edition. Feel free to comment wherever you feel necessary.
Heroes: 187 =25%
(lvl 2, dark steed, darkstar cloak, tome of furion)
Core: 202 =27%
5 x dark riders 92
10 x repeater crossbowmen 110
Special: 182 =24%
14 x blackguard 182
Rare: 175 =23%
1 x war hydra
What do you think? Alternatively I was going to switch the BG for two units of 5 shades, but thought I needed a block of solid troops. The sorceress will go with black riders, skirt around avoiding fire, and focus on getting one really big spell off a turn (helped by the new 8th ed rules, level 2, and the darkstar cloak). The null talisman is to help give some protection against magic, as in the new edition it could be devastating to such a fragile unit. The crossbowmen will shoot down fast cav and flyers, and then aim for combat blocks. The BG will act as an anvil (a very killy anvil ) and the hydra as the hammer, hopefully taking on most other units!
All comments welcome!
EDIT: Does anyone know if 8th edition will change what lvl 2 does?
Hello again, well in 8th edition calvary are aren't very powerful, they get their movement (7 or + 2D6(well its actually 3D6 but you have to get rid of D6, which improves your movement).
Although fast Calvary get a boost as they can have a scout move.
14 black guard sounds nasty, but infantry become a lot better.
I like, it very tough a dragon in 750pts its gotta be good. Hope your Ogres, lizard men and wood elves are doing well.

There's a similar post in ogre kingdoms area (posted by by, today)
Not sure Black Guard will be worth their points anymore. Theyre too expensive to take in large numbers, and the enemy will gain 'stubborn' if they outnumber.. so being stubborn is less of an advantage for BG now.
I'd drop the null talisman too and get some crossbows on the Dark Riders.
Now that the number of Powerdice is randomly generated on 2D6, if you only have 1 level 2, you'll probably roll more powerdice than you really need.. So instead of the darkstar cloak for 1 more PD, I think Tome of Furion is a much better choice in 8th edition. As you get an extra spell to use all those dice on. It also gives you a better chance of getting the spells you actually want.
Example, you roll 2D6 and get 5+5 = 10 powerdice. You would only have 2 spells available, and you dont really want to throw more than 4 dice at any spell. So you throw 4/4 and 2 are wasted. But if you can take a 3rd spell (with tome of furion) you can put all those dice to use, throwing 3/3/4
If you roll a low number of dice you can always try using Power of Darkness.
Dont forget you must specify on your list which Lore the Sorceress will be using. No more waiting to see the enemy before choosing. I recommend death or shadow. The level 6 shadow spell on the Black Guard would have them striking at S9 plus our re-rolls to hit.. nasty
Also the shadow lore's special bonus will allow you to move your sorceress around, which may be important as your opponent will probably be throwing everything at her..
To answer your edit question: Level 2 will add +2 to your casting & dispelling rolls.
My 2 cents

Thanks for the comments!
I agree that tome of furion would be good, and I'll the null talisman with it. The videos were really useful! I think I'll still keep the lvl 2, as the rules will help greatly!
The dark riders are really a bunker to allow me to skirt around and get those important big spells off, and I think the new rules will help this. The only thing I don't agree about is the BG. I think they'll still be great, and my list is for a doubles tournament, with a chaos army. The marauders will help to bolster numbers and hopefully prevent the enemies getting stubborn. I think that they and the hydra still hit hard enough to get through strong units.
@Punching Gnoblars- All going great, except the WE, probably going to sell them, as they'll either suck in 8th, or have to be changed entirely. What about you?
Ohhh... i thought they firing in 2 ranks with missile troops would've helped.
Anyway, very good ogres got lots of upgrades(ranks fight in 2 ranks, have ranks, more impact hits ans stomp ability).
As Skaven are the best horde army around i'm very happy, high M and I and low points cost. My fiend howver changed from Tk to Dark Elves. So he's gonna make a good enemy or friend in team matches.
I was thinking of getting vampire counts but i think i'll stay away for a while as you have to have more than 25% in core. Zombies have horrible fights and cost 4 pts and fear is now very horrible from the rumors(Must pass LD test, if fail you get -1WS).
Good to know things are going well with your armies
The only thing is, that in 8th block troops are getting a huge boost, and WE really lack these. They'll either have to bring out a new box of block troops for them, or make you spam glade guard. They're also making skirmishers (which WE rely on) a lot worse.
Sorry about your WE.
Whats the down side with skirmishers?
