The dark riders are a bit too big.
One rank of 8 or two ranks of 4... Too big for zipping around doing dark rider-ish activities.
If you ask me, Your friend should change up his core. One block of twenty x-bowmen? Too big and unwieldy.
P.S. Sent you a link your friend may like.
Well, first off, shades arn't core, they are special. Second, never give shades light amor. You will save 1 of 6 strength 3 wounds. That means that on average you will have suffered 5 casualies, and the squad will be reduced to a pitiful, useless, 2 man squad.
Second, the riders should have RxBs. Then they can be used as harassers.
Third, the CoK unit is illegal. Minimum unit size is 5, and always give them a musician so that they have a better chance of rallying.
Oh, and on the noble, he should splurge and spend two more points for heavy armor.
