    2000pt DE - legal issue?

    My attempt at a 2000pt army list for DE. Need to know if the 3 reapers are legal. A friend said that you can take two in one rare slot so it makes sense to me but could do with clearing up. Any other comments on the list welcomed.

    they are 2 for 1 rare choice so your list is fully legal.

    a pretty decent list at that only i dont like the magic items on the highborn. the hearstone of darkness strikes me as a much better item(as you magic phase isnt very impressive i wonder how useful that one will be).

    you have the ranks, so have a very potent shooting and have the harasserers.

    Against magic armies i think you will suffer greatly with only 4 dispell dice and no scrolls(i consider 5dd + a scroll minimum unless theming or knows you arent going to face a big magic phase).

    Cheers Dancey, made a few changes to the list. Altered the magic items, dropped the 10 crossbows and added another unit of shades. Will be playing with this list using a friends models soon against Orcs & Gobs. Let me know what you think.

    This is only a personal opinion but I like to use executioners in small flanking units of 12 to 15 as hard hitters. They will be striking last after all, and against orcs, that will be costly. Maybe you could have a unit of warriors as well?

    I reccomend anything over the lifetaker. He'll be moving with the COK, so it will be no good. Second, get him a lance and a shield.

    since you be marching or charging with your highborn every turn the lifetaker becomes quite useless.
    What you could do is drop it for a war banner, +1 to combat res could mean the difference between an autobreak or not :yes:

    Was talking to a friend (VC) who suggested I might get rinsed in the magic phase against any army that thinks seriously about magic. Had a little reshuffle with the characters, added another lvl2 mage and made some other changes in the list. It feels quite rounded and I can imagine how I would try to play with it, but prehaps more experienced players can point out something i've missed?

    i like that list, as you said it's rounded. the only thing you gotta make sure you flank with your DR's with the Corsairs in CC so you dont get outnumbered on a common 20man unit.
    perhaps you could swap one of those units of Corsairs for a 20 warrior spear&shield for same value as 16man Corsair.

    This is just a matter of opinion but I like the shades better then harpies, prolly just because they can have RxB's and they're scouts, just think: first turn unit of 6 shades at close range shooting multiple shots... And orcs and gobbos have lo armour too!!!

    Also give one Sorceress the Lore of Death, the two spell lists are similar, but its good to get the variety. Doom and Darkness can be very usefull against orcs and gobbos (the average goblin would then have a Ld of 3! and orcs 4! and a Black Orc Warboss (prolly the general) Ld of 5!

    Nice list so far but, again, magic is wanting.

    May i suggest keeping both sorceress's but giving one of them the seal of ghrond and a darkstar cloak and the other one the wand of kharaidon. This will increase your power dice to 7 and your dispell dice to 5 as well as having a nice unexpected bound spell you can use when your opponent has used all their dispell dice.

    I also agree with what was said earlier about using the lore of death with one sorceress. even if you roll bad spells you can always swap one for 1, a nice 24'' str 4 magic missile is always useful.
