    2000 points of Dark elves....

    Gday,

    Been toying with Dark Elves for a while, and this is my latest list. See whatyou guys think....

    L - Highborn - 271 (goes with Coldone Knights)
    Lance, Shield, Sea dragon cloak, Coldone Mount, Crown of Black iron, Armour of Eternal Servitude.

    H - Sorceress - 175
    Level 2, Darkstar cloak, powerstone

    H - Sorceress - 192
    Level 2, Dark steed, 2x Powerstone

    C - 25x Warriors - 225
    Full command, sheild, spear etc

    C - 12x Warriors - 144
    Crossbow, Shield, L Armour

    C - 5x Dark riders - 120
    Crossbows

    S - 6x Coldone Knights - 235
    Standard, Champion, Warbanner

    S - 9x Shades

    S - 6x Harpies

    S - 14x Witch Elves - 231
    Standard, Champion, Witch Brew

    R - 2x Reaper Bolt Thrower

    TOTAL - 1997

    The only suggestion I would make to this army is to exchange one of the powerstones on the second sorceress to a seal of Ghrond. Apart from that the army looks really good.

    I was thinking about the seal, but went all out offensive.If it doesnt work out, i can always change it.

    Hm, 2+ armour save, 5+ inv save, 4+ regen save. While still getting S6 attacks.. I like it. Expensive, but I like it.

    H - Sorceress - 175
    Level 2, Darkstar cloak, powerstone

    H - Sorceress - 192
    Level 2, Dark steed, 2x Powerstone
    I'd swap 1 power-stone for the Tome of Furion, it makes you more likely to get the big spells which you actually need a stone for.
    Possible a seal of ghrond or scroll if you are against magic heavy, but otherwise I say take the risk & go all out offensive.

    C - 25x Warriors - 225
    Full command, sheild, spear etc
    Good but drop the Lordling unless a character is going here (hope not!)

    C - 12x Warriors - 144
    Crossbow, Shield, L Armour
    This is alright since you need a home for the sorceresses. I'd go for 10 though.

    C - 5x Dark riders - 120
    Crossbows
    Cool. A muso is nice if you can find the points, but not critical.

    S - 6x Coldone Knights - 235
    Standard, Champion, Warbanner
    Hmm..
    7 cavalry bases will be too wide for all of them to attack. The extra number really only helps if you take a loss or 2 to shooting, then you still have 5-6 when you get to combat.

    I think with the addition of the HB, this unit may be strong enough to charge units head on.
    Just pick off their rear rank bonus with the RBT's, to help a little.
    Usually CoK weakness is getting stuck in a prolonged fight, but the HB is tooled for that. Except that he loses his strength bonus just like the Knights do..

    Maybe 2+ save & 4+ regen would be enough, then you could spend the points saved on a weapon like Sword of might or Crimson death, so you have some consistantly strong attacks.
    Although Crimson death would drop his save to 3+..

    Keep in mind this unit is worth 506 points. There's also a standard + general, which equals a potential 700 victory points for you opponent. He will throw everything at this, so act accordingly with deployment etc..

    S - 9x Shades
    Ok, maybe 7-8 would be enough? 9 seems a little too expensive. They are toast if they get charged, so losing 9 hurts you a bit. Having only 6-8 makes them useful but expendable, much like harpies.

    S - 6x Harpies
    Good

    S - 14x Witch Elves - 231
    Standard, Champion, Witch Brew
    Try to put Manbane on the Hag if you can find points.

    R - 2x Reaper Bolt Thrower
    Good

    Since you only have 1 infantry squad, you could use the COK's to play the same role if needed. Hit head on and hold the enemy still (IF you dont break them) while you flank them. The Highborn & all those 2+ saves make them fairly resistant. It would certainly be unexpected..

    Remember, that the COK's cause fear too, so the more the better. Im sure it wont take long for 1-2 to die somehow either...

    Good point about crimson death. might try to sqeueeze itin. (got 1k and 1.5k to think about too...)

    I have 9 shades as you get 3 in a blister pack, and hate wasteage. plus 18 shotsis better than 16.

    Also, the witches already have Witch brew, so she cant have manbane too. are you sayng it should be swapped?
