Ok, I was just wondering why no one ever uses assassins? Out of all the army lists i have looked at no one has used them. Are they no good or no worth the points?
Please try not to use so many abbreviations in you posts in future, it makes them difficult to read. I have edited this oneto make it easier on the eye. - GN

They are to expensive for what they can do. For their points you can have a standard bearer on a cold one or a sorceress, or a noble on a pegasus - they are more effective choices for their points.

Assassins are expensive and pretty moch never make their points back.
While most commonly, assassins don't hold up to their points cost for what they can do. Now after the Dark Elves got their revision. They have now got a better set-up as they can now hide with a unit of shades and start picking off those annyoing little pockets of usefull-ness your opponent is relying on to help them win.
I'll be damned before the soldiers of the Emperor are just left to rot!

They don't seem all that usefull for their points unless you face High Evles when you need to save yourself from that alway strikes first crap.
Just to say, that one of the requirements for using LO is decent spelling and grammar. Also, using MSN/text/Leet speak is against forum rules.
Please bear this in mind when posting.

Hmmm. I was actually wondering the same thing. Really, if you want to look at it, they can be a bit of a pain with their Leadership rule, and they do cost a considerable amount of points that could be used instead on a better character model. However, perhaps if you'd prefer to challenge yourself, you could take one along and see what happens.

at the moment they are not worth thier points but when dark elves are getting re done they will be geting better and will be going down in points.
Assassins are a difficult one. The main issue is their points cost, which is a bit steep. But they are an unusual shock tactic, particularly if you don't try to set your sights on taking out lord level characters (little or no hope there). They can tip the balance in your favour and even take out 'combat res generators' in the form of enemy heroes.
What I would say is that you should give it a go. Play a few games with an assassin present and see what you think. Accepted wisdom can be useful, but it can also be stifling.

Assassins are worth it, they nearly always hit. Give him a blade of ruin and he gets-average-9 extra attacks.
