I got a set of them for my b-day and tried them out in a game.
For the chosen warriors they werent very impressive. It was a small game 6pts if I remember correctly.
But anyway maybe I was just using them wrong

I was facing dwarves I had

    sorceress
    1 squad 10 repeater crossbows
    2 warriors or 12sh I think
    and black guard of 12

I had my crossbows flank and shoot I had the warriors go up the middle w/ the sorceress and the guard on the flank.
I pretty much got crushed this being my 1st battle and his, hes been playing for 2 years.
There armour isnt strong and they in my oppinon arent that great. So could I get some help on how to better use them.

They are a great anvil to stop a powerful charging enemy (ie cavalry or such). Honestly, they ARE a tough unit to use, but they are a great unit nontheless. There is an excellent tactical article on druchii.net about them, but I don't remember where it was, or else I'd pm you the link.

For your purposes though- you're playing them at too small a points value. They start to become a lot more useful as you play 2000 or so point games, when there are actually units they are great against. They are great against units that depend on their charge to win (ie, not so good against Dwarfs). They stop Chariots, cavalry, etc.

And you DO know about the eternal hatred, right? Cause they weren't all that great before eternal hatred..
Yes, because of their stubborness they are excellent at recieving charges. In the second round of combat, they are most likely to make some corpses because of their 6I.
If you have a BSB near the Black Guard? Unbreakable i say! Hafta be chopped to pieces before they flee then.

And.. just have them because they're so damn cool. Just look at 'em!

Acutally, when I used them, prior to the revision, I didn't think they were that bad either. I love eternal hatred, of course, but I still thought they were a pretty good unit at doing what they do.
