I always thought that Dark Riders were one of the best core choices in the game, yet DE armies are usually considered underpowered. What gives?
Also, are GW planning to release plastic Dark Riders? Because spending £30 on a unit of 5 is not something many people are prepared to do.
Sorry to disappoint you, but no new DR means that you'll have to buy the 1-model blister I suppose. I wish they updated the models (as the steeds look silly and they dont fit very well sholder to shoulder with x-bows), but with all the great new models this is a minor thing imo.
Rork edit: Woah! Check your spelling - you only give "special chocies" to your girlfriend.
No new DR models... Yet!
GW are (apparently) taking to releasing new models for armies bit by bit, instead of the whole lot just in one go. Id say just hand on for a bit and see what comes up...
GW are not planning on re doing dark riders any time soon. i would make your own like i did, mix the glade rider box with the dark elf warrior box, this costs £36 but you get 6 dark riders and enough spare parts to make 10 dark elf warriors with crossbows. All this for only 1 pound more than 5 metal horrible sculps.
I used the G.R horses and legs, the dark elf torsoes, spears, cross bows, arms and heads, the G.R cloaks with the quivers filed off.
i would post pictures but do not have a working camera
