Have you already considered uses for Pegasus BSB? I though he would be great supporting two units of BG or Spearmen on defence, and he can dish in an enemy unit (a bit weaker of course) such as flankers, FC, skirmishers or else. He can also make a glorius flight for enemy machines/missile troops and return in course of turn 3/4 when infantry has just charged. He is almost invincible too due to Pendant.
If you take the Pendant you won't be able to grab a magic banner (mmm...Hag Graef), so that's the biggest problem for ==Me==.
It could work as support, but you run the risk of having your Peggy shot out from under you and you don't break ranks.
Give it a shot, it sounds interesting.
As i doubt your goiong with the banner of Nagarythe on the BSB your just taking instead a mundane standard and toping up on magic items?
The problem is that as ==Me== states your liable to have your pegasus shot from underneath you, failing that, you will have to spend points on magic armour or wards to make up for the lack of protection you get riding a pegasus, which sucks away points you could be spending on making a more combat orientated character designed for taking out war machies etc.
Other than that 50pts on your mount even if it does fly is asking alot for a model you intend on keeping close to the rest of your force so they benifit from the Army Standard, making the fact that it can fly a little pointless. Maybe just put him on a cold one in a unit to better benifit you unit or forget taking him as a bsb and as i mentioned tool out a war machine/small unit killer.
If you want a realy good bsb the best i can work out at the moment is the Death Hag with Rune of Khaine, and Manbane whilst carrying the Standard of Hag Graef. possible 5-8 attacks, striking first, poison, and always wounds on a 3 modifying strength up to 6.
Hope this helps a little.
A problem I see with the Death Hag BSB is that she's frenzied and you'll need to take serious caution in where to place her. A smart opponent will just drag her around
Project Terracotta - Currently Underway
A 55 point unit of Harpies can sit up front and block LoS, good for keeping your frenzied girls from being led by the nose all game.
A Dark Steed wouldn't be bad for a roving BSB, nice speed, extra armor and a relatively low cost.
Okay, that's the point, I just can't stand not making him the Standard flying above battlefield... that's the problem with Corsairs and Assasins too.
So, tell me, how can I make my Pegasus BSB most efficient?
I think a level 2 sorceress with the lifetaker and the tome would be pretty cool. or maybe Hotek's ring as she can fly into close proximity of other mages. You think a fighter-type would be the better way to go?
