So, anyone had any luck with the Corsairs' Hand Bows? Or is this option just a waste of time?
So far only one time did they do anything worth saying. It was when a unit of fast Cav charged about 9 Corsairs left thing that they was weaken so much that they didn't have anything left. He forgot they had the hand x-bow.
I haven't actually tried them yet, but I like the idea of not being able to charge a unit, but being able to run up, tap them once, then when they charge you, you tap them again. Two potential chances to make them panic from wounds, not to mention killing more guys before combat starts. I probably wont do it with a unit bigger than 2 total ranks though. It just seems a waste to have more than a rank of guys that cant shoot

I've tried them again but this time with the banner that gives the unit armour piercing this gives them a little better punch.
I've been considering a unit of 10 with handbows. They can put out a significant amount of fire and are quite well armored and speedy. They are lacking in combat though, so I don't expect you'll see them very often.

when you can get a unit of dark riders for the same price, I'm not sure they'll ever be worth it. It's strength 3. It's just like any other bow, except you have to get dangerously close to use it. If it kills 1 model, you smile because it performed better than expected. Since this is optional for us, and the alternatives are 10x better, I'd never use them. I might consider it on the champion only, just to be a pest, but that's it.
. . . and that's only if I can convince myself that corsairs are worth taking over dark riders or spearmen or harpies or something.
you guys saved me from making a mistake! I was going to go with some guys with handows and hand weapons but now its straight up hand weapons.
Ill get repeaters for fireing
