can dark elves get cold one hound packs? or other variable beasts? or are we limited to the ones in the official DE army book ( or can we use other beasts like bears wolves etc )
if not include some suggestions for more beastmastery of the DE
I sure want cold one hounds
The last time Dark Elves had Cold One warhound packs was in third edition Warhammer, oh, about 20 years ago.
Since 4th ed, the only Cold Ones they have had access to are Cold One mounts and chariot steeds. They added the War Hydra as a non-mount unit in 6th edition, and continued this into 7th edition (in 3rd/4th, you could have bound monsters, and these bound monsters could be also selected as mounts).
I agree that a few more creatures would be nice to have, but equally, most armies should benefit from them, for example, an Empire army wit an Amber wizard might conceivably summon a few cave bears to fight alongside them, or a High Elf army may well attract the attention of non-character mount dragons, and smaller creatures such as War lions could be used as units in their own right, rather than just to draw chariots....
yeah I was thinking more of a general pool of beasts that beast masters from the high/dark/and wood elf armies could use--- I think bears, wolves, and lions would work for all 3.
