the shade models are getting kinda old, and i was thinking whether it was possible to convert some decent shades from wood elf glade guards?
i was thinking:
1. GG bodies and heads.
2. a sword arm from DE spearmen commander (right arm)
3. a repeater crossbow from the repeater crossbowmen sprues (left arm)
the arrows and quivers as well as the leaves are to be cut/filed away from the cloaks, and then it would all be painted a dark theme.. how does this sound?
ALSO, i havent tried to play these bad boys, but please share your knowledge with me. are they worth their points? how many do u use? how do you use them?
that'll be all gents.
thanks for reading.
thanks for the fast response, i will look at it soon. i have a lot of spare corsair bits, so i could use their weapons.
i thought of cutting away the arrows from the quivers, and making som great weeapon sword tips point out in the other end - in case i want to field them with GWs
No problem. The GW's in the quivers is an awesome idea. Good work.

the only problem you may have is that the GG are so small compared to the rest of the WHammer model range. The old DE hands and feet are huge comparatively. Youre guys may look really silly with small bodies and huge hands. I'd go for something a that mixes a bit better. You could still use the GG capes if you want. I used them for my dark riders (crossbow in the quiver) using the standard bearer arms of the DE. I've had some success with corsair legs and heads and using different torsos. The arms from you DE warriors would be better proportioned then.
if you can use some of manhide manflayers. I use them as shades since im not that impressed with the shade model and i think they look great.
i am not so fond of the manflayers, and like plastic models way more than metal.. its a shame about the hand sizes. but if i use the hands and weapons from the corsairs (who have smaller hands) it might work?
shades sound really cool, but i dont want i bunch of idiotic looking models, i will just have to hope for some spare sword arms from my corsairs..
btw, i dont like the new corsair heads, and want to swap them with spearmen heads. have anyone tried this? i might have to trim down the uppermost part of the SDCs too.
