Im just wondering what the best combat assassin is for my asssassins i like placing an assassin in my unit of shades and one in my unit of corsairs.
The combo i use mostly is HW, rune of khaine, black lotus and touch of death this makes my assassin 171 points and im wonderind if there is anythin better. sURE IT DOESNT HAVE THE ARMER BUT IF ITS Stuckin a unit then it is sure going to kill lots of models not to mentiuon killing blow. But tell me you combos and we can choose the best assassin combo.
It depends on what you're trying to pop.
If, for example, you have a character who's going to be a problem, the Rune that grants KB (I forget the name) may be a wise choice.
It depends on what you want the Assassin to do.
I run a similar set up (the exact same, though Black Lotus is negociable based on points) for character killing. I stick him in a unit of Corsairs.
If I want to just kill things I use Manbane, additional hand weapon, and Rune of Khaine. 146 points if I recall correctly and murders most infantry, especially Dwarfs.

Mmmmm. 3x shots that will hit on 2's and wound almost anything on 2's. Then the ability to get anywhere!!!
I use this build in a unit of 8x Shades. I've been able to use in from 1000 point games and up.
I quite like:
AHW, Rune of Khaine, Touch of Death.
Relatively cheap, given his effectiveness. Sucks a bit against Dwarfs and such, but the stunted ones are always hard to kill. And's build with Manbane instead of ToD is also a good one for the same points.

definately rending stars, manbane. strength 7 throwing weapon, hell yeah. have you tried the assasin displacement technique? first turn charges! in unit of shades, in wood, 10 inches away from enemy, out of sight. first turn assasin pops out displacing one of the shades, you can now see your enemy for a first turn charge, nice!
AHW, rune of khaine, touch of death and black lotus is a fairly standard set up.

I'm sorry, I'm quite new to the game. Is there a reason not to use a tactic that allows a first turn charge? Beginning the game on such an advantageous front seems like a good thing for Shades and their Assassin buddy.
