Concerning all my expert knowledge I have come to the final conclusion that I'm sc****d. By Empire-friend just bought Steamy. I know it's a big points oncentration. A know, that there are possible more angerous units.
But it's shooty. It's killy. Mobile as well. The usual only possibility for Druchii to win is to destroy opponent before he even stirkes. But I don't know how to crap it down. And it's really irritating, standing in front of more fragile Empire units, blocking an 18" of frontline.
once it takes a couple of wounds, it gets really dangerous for your opponent to do much more than shoot with it. 2 bolt throwers should be hitting on 3's 1st turn, 2's if he gets any closer. Manbane should also give it some trouble. I realize you'll still need 4's to wound, but most of the time when you do hit, you'll be doing multiple wounds. With 300 pts hogging his rare slot, if he takes anyother war machines, he's going to have very little to fight with. So use your harpies, fast cav, etc to your advantage, take out his warmachines, cripple his stank, and by turn 3-4 you can start marching across the field to battle. You should easily win any remaining combat.
I will be including a tank in my 2k all comers list just for this reason: fear. Classic terrorwarfare! .
I know it's not invinsible, but it's like the hellvolleygun, the enmey will probably not take changes with it and either avoid it (giving me power to control the field) or direct (too much) firepower against.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
