Hi, I'm playing against my regular opponent soon. But we're playing by the nightfight rules (i believe that is what he called it, each turn 3 artillery dice distance sight). The main thing is that my list has to be fun to play with, don't need cheesy.
My friend is playing his Ogre Kingdoms army. When I look at it I see myself having a disadvantage since my sight is limitted my shooting and perhaps magic phase is weaker.
I'm not sure what I should do, go all magic, go all combat, go cav, go all infantry I'm just not sure. I was hoping you guys could give me some hints.
Also I'd like to take down his general I know an tiny elf taking down a mounstrous Lord but it would be awesome and make my day.
It's so badass and is capable of taking down this big nasty lord of him. It costs alot of points so I'm wondering what protection can the ogre lord get? My lord is a bit vulnerable though.
The description of executioners Axe says 'strikes last' is this to point out that it acts like a 2 handed weapon or do I strike last even if I charge?
Assasin with manbane
This fellah will take down some ogres before they can strike my unit.
I'm not sure what else to take. Should I take a unit and stick my big lord in it with the assasin or should I devide my heroes equaly.
Tips are very welcome :d
I would look at running down his lord rather than trying to beat him in combat. I would take a lord on CO, give him the armour of servitude for regen, pendant of Khaeleth, sea dragon cloak, crimson death, and charge him in the lords unit and chalenge. you are nigh unkillable meaning his lord wont hit your unit if he accepts.
he should be in a unit of 8 COKs, Fc, warbanner, maybe somthing on champion.
also should have a bsb in same unit with banner of nagarythe.
take hydras, cause fear in ogres, are nasty, and thier breath weapon stops ogres if they get the regen spell off.
1 lvl 1 with 2 scrolls out of the way.
Tyrants are pretty nasty in combat, but their biggest protection is high T and lots of wounds. I wouldn't recommend the Executioner's Axe because it sucks
Use your unkillable Lord and smack him around with the Crimson Death or something, or just run him down.
I'd go for pure combat and beat the Ogres at their own game. Witch Elves would be really good here as with poison they can bypass the Ogres' toughness and since they have little armor they will drop. COKs, BG, Chariots, Hydras, and the like should tear them a new one. Add a caddy and some Null Talismans for defense and go nuts.

why crimson death? just take a great weapon. same strength. You're protected as it is if you take the pendant and regen armor. Most tyrants(any ogre actually) take a great weapon of some sort anyway (magic or mundane) and your initiative is better than his. If you want it to be fun, just take one of those items on a hero level character. Sweat it out a little. If your hero kills his lord, so be it. If are really worried, take the ASF banner on someone. It sounds like you may or may not get the charge depending on how you roll for night fighting. I'd take a more combat oriented list as shooting will be spotty at best. An Assassin with manbane and rending stars and extra hand weapon would also be crazy. He could eat units by himself as long as you don't let the impact hits get you.
Crimson death if on a cold one as always S6, and not reverted to S5 (mounted). Cold one also increases the armour save. On foot, sure why not go for a great weapon.
