Usually when you put your general on a mount, it tell you that the mount takes the additional spot (dragons for example). There is nothing like that written for a chariot.
So, if I place my general in a chariot, does chariot still take a special choice?
actually not, it has to be written in the army book, and i think its not. with high elves, its just a mount to choose, but a dragon is kinda rare, so it takes up a heroe choice if written. a mount doesn't take up any slots if it's not noted
Chariots as character mounts don't take up slots, so go nuts and field an 8 chariot army
