I do not like the current Maleketh on Black Dragon that you can buy from the Dark Elf section of the GW website. It just is not that appealing to me. Well looking at the LOTR section of the GW website i found a model that i like and I am thinking about using as Maleketh on a Black Dragon alt. Tell me what you guys think. The character riding I think resembles Maleketh a little anyways.
Yeah, the felbeast is so awesome. If i ever get a dragon I just might get that instead
with the way the dragons feet are made on the model, I think there could be a lot of cool ways to place it on a movement base. ya know? like get a large movement base, glue a cool object of some sort (not a rock like everyone uses) and glue the Dragons foot on it to look like it just landed there or sumthing. not sure what I would do, but i do think there could be a few really cool ideas to discover.

the only problem would be scale lor is actually slightly smaller so your malekith isn't gonna look as imposing as if you used the real model
Believe in me, even if we are torn apart our feelings will unite us that is what this post is all about.
I think he'll be fine. I've used LoTR models in 40k (larger models) and the fact that the model is 10x better than the lame old style dragons (or the new ones for that matter) is more imposing than anything. Love the idea. Go for it.
Yeah! More imposing is a good thing if you ask me lol!!
well, its official. I just finished ordering it online. it'll be here in about a week!!!! any ideas of how to base it? a nice rock maybe? or something a little bigger than that and glue the dragons claw on like he just landed there? any ideas at all?
I'd get a 50x50mm base, and maybe put a big rock or some heavy plaster on the bottom to weigh it down. Then maybe add some defeated HE models. The HE dragon and Wizard kit came with some ruins that would look nice or just a shield or something. Just a little bit to add flavor and base the rest with the theme of your army.
I can't tell what the ringwraith's hands look like, but it would be cool to have one of the lances from the cold one knights in his hand if possible. I love those harpoon-looking lances.
I'm actually working on a conversion using this model and the new Hydra to make a Black Dragon. I'll be sure to post pictures when it's past the planning and cleaning stages and I actually start assembling it.
They came out with a new hydra??? or did you mean the latest version of the Hydra???
