Ok, my intension is to get into this new fabulous hobby through and through. Mostly I've played the 40k and watched my bro play with his and my friends. The Fantasy Battle so much fun and tactical (much more to my liking than the now-boring 40k ). Now I'm stuck between 2 armies: The Dark Elves and the Vampire Counts. Now I'm leaning towards the Dark Elves alot, just for the variety and a crazy magic phase they offer. My friend loaned me the armybook, and after a while I made myself a little start of an army:
Master 109 pts
-Armour of Darkness, Great weapon
17 Corsairs 195 pts
-Full command (running 6 wide with the Master )
10 Crossbowmen xxx pts
Reaper Bolt Thrower xxx pts
Total: 504 pts
Other useful ideas will be appreciated,

Shields and great weapons don't mix, but you can still take it in case you want to switch for a better save.
If you could squeeze few more points out, a level 2 Sorceress with the Tome of Furion would absolutely dominate the magic phase at that level. A level 1 with the Tome of Furion would do pretty well too. 3 PD, 2 spells, and PoD can make for some good times.
I don't think I could find a way to squeeze any points for the sorceress unless I took out the corsairs and replaced them with warriors which is what I'm NOT going to do (the models are too sweet) How about a Master mounted on a Dark Steed? again, I have no clue about the magical items I should equip him with,
Cheap Sorceress = level 1 with Tome of Furion.
If you want a Master, one on foot with Armor of Darkness and a great weapon running with the Corsairs could work. Cheap and very hitty.
You may also want to consider swapping out the Sea Serpent Standard. Frenzy can be a huge benefit, but in such a small game you don't have adequate support to keep them from getting lead around by the nose.
I put the new master and removed the banner. In addition, I put more corsairs into the unit making it a bit more durable and more killy,
dont reliy on PoD for single low level sorceress as its veyr easy to displess PoD and then you will find ur self with no dice to cast anything with

in a game that low of points a sorceress hero is going to tear it up far more than a hero on foot. I suggest dropping the guy on foot and picking up a sorceress and try to cut out some other points maybe a few corsairs to try and get her to level 2. your magic defense is bad right now but picking up a lvl 2 (or 1) will get you another dispel dice
