I thought of choosing a mounted sorceress. Then I came across one mounted on a cold one. I'd just like to know if the sorceress' model is separate from the cold one (i.e. none of her legs are attached to the mount already) so I could just swap her mount for a glade rider one
Half of her legs are attached onto the Cold One. From the knee down is on the Cold one. I wish they made the Sorceress on a D.Steed too. I have not bought the new Master on a Dark Steed they recently put out. You could buy it and if by chance it too has the knee's and down on the D.Steed like they did on the Cold One then you could just switch it up like you want. Either way you would not have made a bad buy because the Master on D.Steed model is a BsB too. (the standard comes with it) This is the only official BsB for the Dark Elf army, so it is a nice one to have. I need to get it too.
It's not the nicest looking model in the world, but the Sorceress on Cold One from 6th is a completely seperate model from the coldone. If you have trouble finding one, let me know, I have about 3 of them. As for a dark steed model, what I did was I purchased the High Elf Mage box. It comes with bits to make a High Elf Mage, and One Mage on Elven Steed, It's a relatively simple conversion to scrape away the high elf symbology.

This is the one I use since I had it before the new models came out. Personally, and maybe this is just the cynic in me, but I think they modeled it like that on purpose so that it would be very difficult to convert to force you into either buying the old ones or using two different models to make into one. It's not the nicest looking model in the world, but the Sorceress on Cold One from 6th is a completely seperate model from the coldone
i agree with ya there. GW do seem to do everything they can to make more money. i do not know a single person who does not think they are way overpriced to begin with. on top of that they always seem to package certain model types in packages so where for you to get the minimum number of a model type to be able to play them as a unit you would end up having to buy an extra package to do so. For instance.... To play the smallest unit of harpies you need to have 5 of them. You can have up to ten in a unit but you at least need 5. So, if you go to buy your fist bit of harpies ever you at least need to buy 5 right? well, you cant buy just five of them. harpies come in packs of 2 per bilster pack. so if you only buy two packs, you end up having one harpie short to even be able to play with the ones you bought. if you buy another pack then you end up paying more just to make the minimum amount of harpies to play with. the packs are not cheap to begin with. lol, its just one example.
