Sick setup here... Dark Pegasus as the mount. First because it has 3 wounds and also because it's flying and has Impale Attack. A mounstrous mount means they will have to allocate shooting. The basics too.... Heavy armour (but its the magic armour below), sea dragon cloak, shield, Great Weapon. Dagger of Hotek to give him an extra attack and mainly the ASF rule since I gave him a Great Weapon. For Protection the Pendant of Khaleth and Armour of Eternal Servitude. Wicked Ward save and Regeneration on top of the awesome Armour Save. Great weapon with ASF, and on a flying mount. Almost immortal.
That would be a sweet set up, except it's illegal. You cannot use two hand weps while mounted and I do not think you can combine dagger of hotek with a great wep anyway, as it is an additional hand weapon. Other than that he would be near immpossible to kill.
ahh, well even without the dagger the main thing was the prtection. If you take away the GW and Dagger of Hotek you still have 30 points from the 100 you can spend on magic items to give him a better magic weapon.
Monstrous mounts don't benefit from the ward and Regen, so it's an armorless T4 critter that can get pincushioned by basic weapons.
yeah, i never assumed the mount would.
Great weapons are allowed when mounted but only give +1S instead of the usual +2S (still strikes last)
Monstrous mounts don't give and extra +1Asv like a normal mount. (so HA, SDC, SH will get ya a save of 3+ in combat 2+ against shooting)
The pegasus isn't immortal, 3 wounds on T4 is pretty easy to achieve to kill. Getting your pegasus shot underneath won't do you dreadlord any good, leaving him somewhere in the middle of the battlefield alone.
You're getting the charge off since you can fly 20" so I'd just take a lance. As an addition you could take potion of strenght to get high S in the following round of combat.
The pegasus with dreadlord doesn't negate ranks so he wont win combats by himself only against units with no SCR. Rather take a manticore or dragon.
I think you'd be better off with a normal Master and run him to hunt war machines and the like. Ring of Hotek would be a good one.
Exactly! I'm planning on taking a master on pegasus with ring of hotek and armour of darkness in my 2250 list

Potion of strngth might be a good choice, nice thinking! Dont you think that the Pendant of Khaleth is better than the ring of hotek though? I mean as far as protection goes?
Ring of Hotek is more for offense, flying around to get in range of enemy casters to make them explode themselves.
Ring and full mundane would be sufficient I think, the Pendant can go on something more important. Use your speed to hide.
