Tomorrow I will meet my cousin and his brothers High Elves. He usually plays Wood elves or Bretonnia but he wanted to try the high elves(ASF!!!!). I have reason to belive he will use alot of knights, 2+ Reaper bolt throwers and maybe the star dragon+star lance combination. Please help me!
I was thinking of basing my army around a big block of BG:s with ASF banner, BSB with either pendant + blood armour or hydra banner.
I will also use frenzy corsairs with a killing blow 7 attacks assassin reroll wound on 1:s.
2 lvl sorceress. One with sacrificial dagger and one with darkstar cloak
Supreme sorceress with black staff and other
14 Crossbowmen (sacrficial dagger sorceress)
5 DArk riders
I haven't counted but i think it's around 2300 pts. We will only play 2000 and i need all the help i can get. This will make me get alot of magic and also the first hit most of the time. I don't think he will be prepered for the big BG block. There is also a risk that he will just shoot at it all game long. Please tell me what you think.
Being a High Elf player I hate the new rules of your crossbows ;-) Against the Stardragon take RBT's, although it will be difficult to shoot'em down.
unfortunately I don't know everything about DE, I can just tell you (as a High Elf player) what I hate, and first of all it's as I told you your crossbows.
You could also take some Shades (of course with crossbows and great weapons)
Hope I could help you in your choice.
yeah i guess reapers are the only thing that can be able to hurt that damn dragon thank you for your advice
Also if they don't hurt the dragon, it's the psychological effect that counts. You could play with it for the deploiment. For any questions you can also send a PM.
Yep, RBTs put the hurt on the Dragon.
Your plan looks solid, a big block of BG with ASF can rip apart anything the HE throw at you and hold your line amazingly well. Back them up with shooting, magic, and some disruption units like DRs and Harpies and you're good to go.
If you're worried about getting shot up, 10 screening Corsairs or Harpies can absorb missile fire very well.
Shades would also be great for taking down his Bolt Throwers.

If you have the posibility try to take the lore of shadows. Pit of shades would be fatal for the stardragon, because of his low initiative and the lord, who probably survives would be a good stand alone target for crosbows.
I really hate them.....
Hope you will give us a battle report
