Just came across the rules for Mengil Manhide and his Manflayers and just wondered if they are worth taking as a special choice with the new DE rules. Obviously they are a brillaint unit, but i wonder if a unit of shades could preform almost as well for considerably fewer points. As a DoW unit they can add to armies that lack shooty scouts, bit i was just wondering if anyone had any advice about how they would play alongside DE.
mengils manflayers were the template for the shades in the new book. Personally, I'd just take shades.
Lots of new tourney armies have a shadestar (large unit of shades with ASF bsb and Magic resistance talisman totem carrier. They can eliminate units at a time.
Personally, I think 2 smaller units of shades are probably the way to go (7-8 man units)
