so i was wondering if anyone can give me any advice on how to achieve a similar paint job to the dreadlord with great weapon pictured on the top middle of page 74 of the DE book. His armor appears not to be painted with metallic but instead flat grays to achieve the fantastic look however i have not been able to recreate this look at all and i was wondering if anyone had advice on how i can?
It looks to me as if it is a weakly painted skull white onto the black with blue/black mix of the new washes.
It may actualy be metalics with a wash. if you look in the picture directly below it, at least the helmet emblem is metalics with a wash.
Alternatively, try asking this question in the painting sub-forum. Lots of useful tips and helpful people out there who can show you about non-metallic metals.
