So I love the Cold One Knights. Now lets say I wanted an cavalry heavy army that has the following:
COK x2 (5 each) or x1 (10
Dark Riders x2(8 each
Warriors x2(14 each
Master x2 (1 mounted
Sorceressx2 (1 mounted
Would that be a good army. Maybe I could throw in some bolt thorwers too.
I plan on using wood elf glaive guard for my dark riders. Anyone else do this? If yes, pics please.
I suppose it could work. This is 2k, right? Maybe also throw in some elite footsoldiers, witch elves or black guard.

If I did it would be black guard, though I do like witch elves. I could replace my corsairs with witch elves so I have both.
If your going cavalry, go all out mate. Fill up Core with 5 man DR units, have a bunch of CoK's, take a mounted lord. Maybe a dragon? a sorceress on a dark pegasus? Mess around with all the mounted options. Maybe even be a jerk and go double hydra. I'd say screw the footsloggers and go with all mounted. looks cooler and I think it will work better. I dunno but I like the thought of all DR and scalies. Any way, only field DR in units of 5, 8 is unwieldly and too large for the roles they will fill. Keep em small and mobile. Cheers, I've always wanted to try this.
I've considered this. My only problem is cash. I suppose I could sell or trade my warriors and corsairs to get some. About the dragon, what do you think of a nazgul's fellbeast from LotR. I don't like the black dragon model, and love the fellbeast.
What armies do you face? The more Cold One units in your army, the more stupidity will hamper you. This will hurt you against gunlines (you get shot more) and other fast armies (you get charged more). If you are playing competitively then this will be more of an issue, if you are playing friendly games then just have fun with it!
I'd definately consider investing in dragons or manticores. If do go all cav, might as well maximize the shock value with more terror tests.
Arena of Death Champion: Nexim of the Guldskullz Tribe. Fear my wrath!
If the money is an issue, then the fell beast sounds pretty cool and otherwise, I'd suggest kitbashing glade riders and corsairs for DR and the CoK's are pretty cheap for cav as is.
That's a really good idea. I don't need the corsiars so their parts can go on the glade riders to keep them closer to the dark elf look. Thanks for that. I'll most likely be playing against vamp count mostly, so no gun lines. Mostly friendly games.
I just started a thread about this, but looking over the numbers I am thinking that mounting a lord or master in a CO chariot is a really solid use of 100pts. I plan on doing this for my army. If you have the cold ones already and a few extra bits to make a chariot out of, I think leading a fast DE army with a Lord on Chariot in the spearhead would look and feel great! 100pts is pretty good IMO for a mount that moves pretty quick, and gets a lot of extra attacks!
WH Fantasy: Vampire Counts, Dark Elves
WH 40k: Eldar, Orks, Space Marines
Well if the theme of this army is DE in an all cavalry theme, then using Dark Riders in your core, maybe a BIG unit of Crossbows Warriors with a Sorceress in the unit with the dagger of sacrifice as your lone infantry support unit (that is in a single file at the center of the battlefield to provide missle support, and then make the choice between either 2 Hydras or 1 Hydra and 2 RBTs.
Everything else should be Dark Riders or COK's. Possible put the DreadLord on a manticore
