Hey. Not sure if this is in the right place but here goes.
I'm planning on starting up a dark elves army and I'm just requesting painting tips or general help for painting the whole model. Paticularly the dark elf skin and the purple cloth. If anyone could give me some advice it would be much appreciated.
I'm assuming youre talking about painting Dark Elf Warriors?
Well, anyway, my advice would be:
1 ) Glue the model.
2 ) Spray it black.
3 ) Drybrush the chainmail (or armour) Boltgun Metal.
4 ) Drybrush the chainmail (or amour) Mithril Silver.
5 ) Paint the sword Boltgun Metal, or, if it's a crossbowman, pain the crossbow Golden Yellow.
6 ) Paint the skin Elf Flesh, then highlight with watered-down Bleached Bone.
7 ) Paint the cloth Liche Purple, then highlight with watered-down Warlock Purple.
8 ) Paint the sword hilt and 'mask' (if they have one) Golden Yellow.
there are lots of good "step by step" articles on the GW site. You'll find Corsairs here Cold ones here Warriors here
And if you look around they have some articles on painting faces as well. There articles are easy to follow and probably one of the better ways to get started.
Hope that helps!
Good luck with the painting
