As you may have heard, rumours are going around about the new 8th ed rulebook. I have seen some myself and im wondering how this will affect DE with the new rulebook.
Rumors are just that, rumors. I wouldn't go overboard discussing how your army will look until the book is fully spoiled, or is out.
If you want to talk about specific rumors, ones with high chance of being true, then just say which ones you are talking about. Otherwise we are just shooting blind, as there are quite a few rumors that contradict each other.
It's all rumors for now, and I'm pretty sure an ettra will be released to "mend" the current books before new ones are published.
Just been brain storming for 8th ed seeing ive seen the book now and think dark elves can be even more horible with a magic heavy list in the new rules it is possible to take 2 lvl 4 wizards and a lvl 3 and 2 or 3 lvl 2 at 3k.
now with the magic lores changed which are really nasty will make dark elves have an edge with the 12 power dice cap.
as we can generate our dice then when they are getting low use power of darknees to bost them and with 5 spell casters all beeing able to chuck 6 dice each of our magic phase's can go on for a lot longer now which will have a big advantage over lots of other armies

Hydras are REALLY good now too- they can use their breath weapon in combat for 2D6 auto-hits at it's initiative (one use), then it's normal attacks, then D6 thunderstomp attacks that auto hit and always strike last. Pretty sweet.
I got to have a look at the new rules today and i saw something which made me grin. Profiles for monstrous mounts have been combined with the rider and magic items affects the whole model now. Therefore a pendant of Khaeleth on a lord with manticore= unkillable killing machine
Also has anyone thought about a dark elf gunline with the new "shoot in 2 ranks" rule.

ye i think i am going to play a stupid heavy magic list because even if you blow up 2 or 3 mages they would of hopefully all doubled their points back in one way or another with the S and T boost and the direct damage spells to units, seeing the new lores are filthy
I'm thinking a master with a black dragon egg, getting all those str4 autohits while being toughness 6, freaking awesome I think.
