Okay, in the new 8th edition it says that we are going back to percentages, now, it specifically mentions that you can spend up to 25% on your lord choice, that does not rule out how many lords you can have as long as it doesn't exceed the 500 points, i've read this from the rulebook and it doesn't mention anything about a limit on it, so i'm gonna take a nerfed out Dreadlord and a level 3 sorceress, your views on this rule? And what would your choice be?
Not really, my points would come to 500 because I would spend the majority on the Dreadlord W/Cold one, Crimson Death, Pendant of Khaeleth and Armour of Darkness which comes to around 245 points while equipping the Sorceress with the Seal of Ghrond which comes to 255
Absolutely legal to take two lords at 2k. I'm waiting to read the rulebook thoroughly before relisting my armies though. Will probably stick with my sorceresses.
Fantasy: Wood Elves, Dark Elves, Beastmen and Tomb Kings.
LotR: Misty Mountains and Rohan
But now you can take that dreadlord on a cold one with only 1000 points, that would be nice

so 25% on lords even at 1000 points? Sucks cause I still can't use a Slann with my LM army but could use a Old Blood. Well I guess that is something.
For the scenario described above, yeah I guess that could work but it would go away from the days of putting a DL or Lv4 Sorcerress on a Dragon or even a Manticore.
Manticore yeah, Dragon would be a no-no i'm afraid because your standard Dreadlord plus the Dragon would come to 460 points but you could afford it on the Manticore I suppose
While taking Dreadlords at less than 2k will be legal, I remain doubtful that it would be a viable/competetive choice. Too much of a point sink, leaving you with less units, especially if you take heroes too (obligatory magic defense). Battle Standard Bearers look to be very good in 8th edition too.. perhaps even a must, so there's even more points spent on heroes.

Yeah true Dragons may of been nerfed but they also get 2D6 strength 4 impact hits when they charge so I suppose it about evens it out just about
I'm more worried about the changes of flying movement as a nerf, no more auto 20" no more charge 20". Dragons don't have ranks, so can't take away rank bonus from flanking. So its going to need to generate CR kills or wipe a unit to win.
