Got home from playing my lizards yesterday against vampire counts (won all 3 games) to find my lovely girlfriend had purchased me the dark elves war hydra for my growing dark elves army. So i began reading up on the hydra and i cant see why it would every have to roll on the monster reaction table as theres abit about all ranged attacks all hit the hydra and all close combat is allocated against the hydra. How can the handlers be killed?
they can die from template weapons and spells that effect a whole unit
And not all close combat attacks hit the hydra. If the enemy models are in base contact with only the handlers, then the handlers can be targeted in combat otherwise attacks have to be directed against the hydra.
Would have to be corner-to-corner to attack a handler in that case, although most people tend to attack the Hydra anyway, after all who'd want to face a Frenzied/Unbreakable Hydra?
How can you choose to attack the hydra anyway if you're only in corner to corner contact with the handlers? Don't you have to attack the handlers if that's the only models you're able to?Would have to be corner-to-corner to attack a handler in that case, although most people tend to attack the Hydra anywayProbably no one, but how do you make it frenzied and unbreakable?who'd want to face a Frenzied/Unbreakable Hydra?

You could be in B2B with the Hydra and still be C2C with a Handler, although I'm not sure you can actually attack the Handlers in the first place, would have to check the wording.
The Frenzied/Unbreakable Hydra is caused by the results on the Monster Reaction Table as a result of killing the Handlers.
