Hey, I have 2 questions.
If you go to the aus GW site, into the Dark Elf section and look at the sample army list, There is a unique looking Noble model. I have not seen it advertised for sale anywhere, is it a conversion they have done? is it an outdated model that is no longer for sale? or?..
(there is a thumbnail of the noble further down the page, click to enlarge)
Cold one Knights:
These guys are sold as seperate blisters..So how are you meant to get the model with a banner? and the model holding the small dragon?
I ordered 5 Cold one knights through a non GW retailer, and was a little dissapointed to find that all 5 they sent were nearly exactly the same (except for the shields). no banner model. no dragon holding model. no musician
I had the exact same problem with Dark riders. there a 3-4 different model types & also the command model. i ordered 4 & the command. out of the 4 there were 2 each of 2 kinds.. which annoyed the hell out of me.
I guess the obvious solution is that you need to TELL them specifically what blisters.. but the problem i can see with that is that you cant always tell what they are until you open them  (also if you dont order through GW its hard to explain what you want bcoz they dont know much about them, and can even be a little embarressing trying to explain what details you want on your little toy soldier lol)
So what is the solution? lol
EDIT: another 'by the way' question: As my opponent, facing against my dark elves. Would you allow me to use a High/wood elf dragon model painted as a black dragon, with a cold one knight riding it to represent a highborn? Or is that too much of a violation of the unwritten 'what you see is what you get' rule?
I just think the high/wood elf dragon looks alot nicer than the Dark elf one (Malekith's).

Well, that model is the upper body of a Black Guard and the legs are of Malus Dark Blade. I made the same exact model and its really not hard to do.
Both those units have Command Blisters. I don't know why they aren't on the site, but if you want to order them, just call up and ask for them.
For WYSIWYG rules concerning the Black Dragon.....I think the only formality would be that it has to be black.
I agree, pretty much the only difference between a black dragon and any other type would be the color. Though you may want to make it look more evil, hooks and skulls and all, but thats up to you. Actually I think I might try that, I kinda like the Wood Elf dragon....hmmmm...*schemes*:shifty:

You can get boxes of 5 cold one knights in GW stores, though they dont seem to be available online.. I got 2 boxes about a month ago, only opened one so far.. But it had one champion, one banner bearer, a musician and 2 normal knights
Arch Overfiend & Grand Despot
I currently play:
Doom Eagle Space Marines
Hive Fleet Omega Tyranids
Goff Ork Boyz(dead)
Tau of O'me
Inquisitorial Xeno Hunters
and my attempted foray into fantasy
'Dark Angel Green' Dark Elves in need of fluff
I have also bought the knights in boxed sets which includes full command.
Games workshop online often doesnt have the models you need, as such, i ussually branch out to find models to be mounted on various steeds.
I am currently using a slaaneesh lord (the mounted version), malus darkblade and a vampire counts wight lord (the mounted version which has to be ordered form the UK but is only $35 including postage etc.)
Most of the time a models 'home' army will only become apparnt after it's painted. Because of this if you paint it in your armies colours it will look part of a coherent force regardless of the model used.
