I just started playing warhammer and i have
and a bolt thrower
and ill be facing lizardmen most of the time BTW
thanks for any help
2 more mages, 2 more chariots, cold one knights, and some more bolt throwers. i also face lizards alot and heavy magic helps to neutralize the slann and his lackys (skink priests). spearmen need chariots to help them take down sarus unit (+ the can reck skinks (well anything can)). bolt throwers are good for getting his steg's, salamanders, and block troops. another good unit to consider is witch elves. they can out attack a unit of saurus + Poison.
i wouldnt recommend heavy str 3 shooting since most of their army is T4+. so go with the high str weapon/poison attacks.
that should help.
Darks Elves 6000ptsWood Elves 500pts (WIP)
Imperial Guard 5000pts
Against lizardmen, Dark Riders might not be such a good idea...
Depending on how many points you want to build up to, I'd definately recomend a chariot or two, and I'd suggest talking a look at the hydra...If you're trying to build up to 2000 points. I know a lot of people don't like it too much, but I like it a lot, because it attratcs fire from the enemy.
You can never go wrong with more magic, especially with our +1 to casting. Just remember to hide your sorceresses away if Lizardmen have any shooting. (never played against them, so I don't know too much about them)
Sailor by career, pirate by heart.
Good for getting spells off but the lizardmen have +1 to dispel which makes this slightly less good. I agree strong magic would be a good start though, just don't expect to compete with a Slann!Originally Posted by TheOteriFiles
Shades or dark riders might be a good units to charge the skinks and kill them, and to marchblock the other lizards. Flying monsters, and harpies might also fill the role, but due to limited armor, they are more susceptible to skink poison. Cold One knights might also work well, due to high movement, armor, and damage (and fear!). Corsairs might also do well to charge the skinks, but they'll have some difficulty catching them, as the skinks are faster. A banner of murder might help there.
Once you've dealt with the skinks and marchblocked portions of the army, you'll need to single out some units to attack. This is best done with combined (flanking) charges, possibly spearsmen/corsairs and dark-riders/cold-one-knights.
since dark riders, cold one knights, and corsairs are on both lists, they are what I would get to expand the army.
Hope it helps!

Welcome to LO, flameseeker574. Glad that you're already getting lots of good responses.
Take some time to cruise around the fantasy forums and you'll find a lot of good info and users.
Now here's where I turn into evil mod: ( Grrr! (the face and growl get me in the mood) For Sigmar's sake, man! A little bit of capitalization and punctuation wouldn't hurt!
Whew, good to get that out of my system. But really, welcome to LO. It's a great board. Check out the Inquisitorium below when you get the chance---lots of helpful info there.
ok I think next time I go to the store I will buy another RBT and some corsairs, followed by CoKs and DRs
