Any experience with sea dragon cloaks?

Does anyone have any experience doing modeling or conversions with sea dragon cloaks to add them to character models? Since every army list I ever see includes a SDC on every noble/highborn, I'm assuming someone out there must have done this at some point.

I'm planning out a new DE army, and am really trying to figure out how to approach this aspect of it. The texture of the cloak seems extremely difficult to handle from scratch, but I don't see good candidates to steal cloaks from either, as they are all built into the bodies of the models.

Does anyone bother going WYSIWYG on these?

Green stuff or simply used of the Corsair captains as HB/Noble.

    Cheers!

Some fruits and vegetables come in mesh bags of varying sizes....

Squash some green stuff into the mesh to get a checked, scaley type look...

It's a little hard to use but its worked in the past,

Yes, and I cut away at high elf normal cloaks, to make them look scaly. It works!

Somebody else suggested on here a while back that you take a thin sheet of green stuff and press it against the sea dragon cloak of a normal corsair model, this gives you almost the same sort of texture. You can then mould the green stuff onto the target model and let it set.

Malekith also comes with a seperate cloak. (but not scaley). You could carve it or add green stuff using the suggested methods.

For charaters mounted on Cold ones. I beleive the best way is to use the top half of a corsair champion, and the legs of a Cold one Knight.
or simply use a Cold one Knight and add a green stuff cloak as described above.
