So, for once in my life im thinking of making a noble with a bsb. I have plenty of parts to make one with but i dont know what would be awesome look. My army colors are red/purple/and dark green.
So far im thinking of a black guard std model with harpy wings coming out of the pole behind the flag.
Give me some ideas of what you guys use.
PS: Pic's would be awesome
Darks Elves 6000ptsWood Elves 500pts (WIP)
Imperial Guard 5000pts
I have been thinking along the same lines. I don't use corsairs in my army (yet anyway), so I plan on using the corsair command standard bearer. It's a good looking model.
Rork edit: Woah! Check your spelling - you only give "special chocies" to your girlfriend.
No modeling advice, but here's some tactical thoughts:
Mounted BSBs can fit in infantry units without being-shot-at penalities, and a mount helps out with the armor saves. A dark steed would also help get the BSB where s/he'll do the most good from round to round. This also opens up the lance option, and 3 S6 attacks are nothing to sneer at in a DE army.
Infantry BSBs can be flown around using the shadow lore basic spell. If you get an opportunity to smack a delicate unit or war machine, you have +1 static CR (plus war banner?) to begin with, and you might get some kills, especially if using a magic weapon. While you wouldn't want to use this trick against anything with substantial static CR, it is an unexpected tactic to launch your BSB into close combat unsupported, and could be valuable against targets of opportunity.
Hope it helps!
