Mercenary General- heavy Armor, Enchanted shield, Sword of might, barded warhorse, lance. (140)

-Just to give him a 3+ save in combat, although when I first made this list, I included a unit of 14 Paymaster guard for him to go with, which have now been taken out, so where should he go?
Mercenary Captain- 2x hand weapons, Heavy armor. (50)
-Goes with pikeman
Hireling wizard- 2 dispell scrolls.
-Level one, 2 scrolls, just here for magic Defense.
Pirazzos Lost legion- 7x4. (330)
-7 crossbows, 21 pikeman.
-Decent shooting ability, and then good combat ability with pikes + Pirazzo.
19 Pikemen- Heavy armor, full command. (239)
-Merc captain goes here.
10 crossbowmen- (80)
10 crossbowmen- (80)
7 Heavy calvery- Full command barding. (192)
-Merc Gen goes here.
5 Light calvery. (55)
-Just there to add targets for them to shoot at, and perhaps march block/flank charge.
6 Ogre bulls- LA, Iron fist+ hand weapon.(250)
-Iron fists as 2x weapons on charge, and shields in combat for a 4+ save.
3 Ogre bulls- Ironfists + hand weapons.(120)
2 leadbelchers- (110)
That should come out to 2019, so i've got 20 or so points to ditch. I was thinking about dropping the merc captain all together and adding another bull to the unit of 3, which will take me to 2001 points, which is acceptable.
Anyway, this is really the first time im looking at DOW, just trying to find a army I want to collect slowly over time, but I want a good army list first. (General all commers army list)
So, what do you guys think?

I'm making my first DoW army too, so I can only go on my experiences
with other armies.
I think the paymaster should go in the pikemen. That way if anyone wants
to get at him they'll have to survive the pike attacks first. Plus you can have the
unit champion protect him from challenges.
2 cannon! How about swapping one for the halfling hot pot? Only 50 points
for a no armour-save template weapon. Only S3 admittedly, but pretty good
against human/elvish knights.
I'd drop the captain too - maybe use the points to upgrade the wizard to L2? Or
give bows to the light cavalry? They're unlikely to kill many figures, but
they become twice as annoying to the enemy.
Why 6 ogres in the unit? You haven't enough to get a rank bonus. Are you
hoping to outnumber after combat and then autobreak through fear?
Anyway, good luck with the army - you've given me something to think about
for my list!
My problem with putting a character in a pikeman unit is you lose that pike attack. Not too bad just something to note

You lose 1 strength 3(perhaps 4) attack out of 20! And if you survive,
you'll get a couple of str 4 (or better) ones. Not too much to give up, I
And I believe Ogre Bulls & LeadBelchers are Special, rather than rare
for DoW armies. I'd have to check to be certain, though (away from my
books right now).
They are definetley rare choices.

They are definantly special for DOW. It says it somewhere, i'll post it when I find it. But all mercenaries are one slot lower for DOW then for other armies.
As for the char in the pikeman attack, im loosing one attack that will strike first, and the str bonus vs calvery, but hes already going to strike at str 4 if he survives after the pikemen do their thing.
Maybe I will sit the paymaster in with the pikeman also, give him even another character to guard him from challenges, dont want him dying.
I dont want to make the mage level 2, because its a waste, hes just there for Defense, I wasnt going much for magical offense in this army, I have enough of that in my high elves, and its getting old.
If I can find the points, I would like to give the fast calvery bows. I'll have to look at the list more carefully.
I fielded 6 bulls because I figured it would add to their survivability, and add to their bull charge when I do charge.
I'm going to find where it says the ogres are special, because im sure more people will argue I have too many rares. Thanks alot for the comments everyone.
