I have currently been able to get good deals of Ebay for pikemen, and found their PDF rules on the games workshop website. Unfortunately, except for a few new regiments of renown like Ruglands armoured orcs and Mengil Manhides Manflayers, the Dogs of war have gone the way of the Squat, the halfling and the chaos dwarf. But theres still life in them yet! All the Ogre kingdom ogre troops will be Dogs of war aswell! Yay! :lol: Right, here it is:
Mercenary captain: Brace of pistols, heavy armour (based on Johann model)
Hireling wizard: Lvl 1, 2x Dispel scroll (based on Shiekh Yadosh)
Paymaster: Great weapon, pistol, heavy armour (Mordheim araby merchant - see the Araby theme yet?!
19 pikemen, full command, light armour
19 pikemen, champion, musician, heavy armour (paymaster is a battle standard for Dogs of war, so no need for ordinary standard!
8 duellists, pistols and hand weapons
I know I have no cavalry, but i hope to stand back and let the enemy come to me. Pistol armed skirmishing duellists are excellent for guarding flanks, and crossbowmen and the light cannon provide supporting fire.
The mage is the magic defence and the pikemen stand back with their wonderful pikes (always strike first even if charged, +1 S if charged by cavalry or monsters or chariots, fight in 4 ranks, 3 if charging)
The enemy seem to have a strange phobia of charging me, but if they charge me in the flank, I lose my bonuses. If my paymaster dies, all my units take a panic test which is a bit of a bugger, but the pikes usually thin out any attacks coming his way.
Whats wrong with homicide?
loose 6 crossbowmen and 1 pikeman from each unit. spend the rest of the points on more duelists(replace the pistols if you have to) and put 1 unit on either side of your pikemen. keep your 2 pikemen units CLOSE and the duelists on the flanks of them!!!

I'd increase the units of pikemen when you increse your points total. 4 ranks means you should have big units to maximize your unit potency.
