Hi, i have an idea for a dogs of war type army list but a completely non human one, what do you guys think?
I'm talking about following the dogs of war list but replacing the humans with elves, dark elves lizardmen dwarfs orcs etc? I know that on the surface it goes against the fluff but in every race and culture there are basically greedy barstewards and i was thinking why not in the warhammer universe?
The reason i ask opinions is i've read a couple of threads where DoW generals are slating the use of non human forces in the DoW core, would it really matter as long as i used the base profile for the correct race
Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated I know that the DoW forum isn't exactly a hotbed of activity but any comments are greatly appreciate
P.S. id be more than wiling to make a mixed force as this is what attracted me to the army in the first place but i need to know if this will be generally frowned upon
yeah, should be more than fine, as long as you use the same race to represent humans, otherwise it gets quite confusing....
Yeah, this is excellent! TY Angel of Rust!
Graktoof the vile, victor of 1000 battles, partial credit to 1000 more, and sore loser about the other 8000...
I don't know, but wouldn't that unbalance the list?
You mean you'd use different races, using the points values of their own lists? If so those values are balanced for use with other troops of the same race. You could just combine dwarfs and elves or whatever at cheap points cost and unfairly plug any weaknesses so you had an uber army.
Maybe you mean something else though, like using different models but human stats. That would be fair but not make much sense.
Some players will certainly cry foul, however that's an idea i've been considering myself for example using Goblins to represent some. I thing its Brazanga's Beseigers use the pavise in front of the troops with cross bows. I was considering useing Regular Goblins with huge shields in front with Crossbow's. Most people probably won't mind as long as you explain it ahead of time.... make sure you correspond the base size though.
