Hello all, Would like to here from all Dwarf Generals that could help me with my list. All comments are appreciated. I am playing in a tournament at my local shop Saturday the 21st. Might be playing VC, Wood Elves, High Elves and possibly Dogs of War.
I have trouble with the wood Elves and Skemishers.
- Lord (General) MR of Swiftness, RO IornX2,RO Fury, RO Cleaving, (General with Hammerers)
- Josef Bugman ( Ranger Scouts)
- Runesmith, SH, RO Spellbreaking, Master RO Balance
- Thane, Army Battle Standard, Master RO Valaya
- Quarrellers , 12 plus Musician
- Longbeard Ranger scouts, 8 Reg and 1 Vet Plus Bugmand GH,SH, Throwing Axes
- Warriors, 19 FC With Runesmith, SH
- Warriors, 19 FC With Thane, SH
- Hammerers, 19 Standard, Vet, With Lord (General)
- 2 BT, One with Penetration and Engineer, One with RO Immolation
- Grudge Thrower RO Accuracy
- 2 Gyrocopters

Well for starters you need to have 10 rangers. Bugman doesn't factor into this unit's minimum size. So we need to make room for on more. I think I would drop the quarellers down to 10 or so to make the points.
I would figure out a way to get an organ gun in there. Probably straight up drop a Gyro for the organ gun. If mem serves me maybe the point difference between the two it enough to add that ranger?
I wouldn't put Bugman in the Rangers. It's fluffy but I would use his anti-fear abilities in a unit of warriors. maybe the unit with the BSB? That way you could heal him too.
Speaking of the BSB I usually give him the rune that gives him a 5+ WS. he's worth so many points I would want to keep him safe as possible.
Decent enough list though. Only thing that NEEDS changing is the rangers.
I will replace Bugman with a Thane and change out the Longbeard Rangers to Quarrellers Rangers. I will have 10 in the unit with one of the as a Vet. This unit will keep the throwing axes for 15 points apiece. I will drop the 2 extra Quarrellers in my other unit. With the extra point save from losing Bugman and the 2 Quarrellers I will Rune up the ranger Thane. As far as the Organ gun I don’t have one yet. It is something on my to get list. I am pretty new to the Dwarfs and fantasy games. My wife and I started in March of this year.
I would consider using the points from dropping bugman to take a MR of challenge and shieldbearers for your lord. Not only will this allow you a good tool agaist skirmishers, but will render him immune to killing blow from wardancers and all sorts of undead nastys
The organ gun is definitely our best weapon against skirmishers, but since you dont have one thats not an option. The panic checks from the flame cannon can also be decent against skirmishers, but isnt as reliable.
The only other thing you could take is an anvil against skirmishers, flyers, and war machine crews, but its a point sink
i'd also switch out the rune of immolation for another rune of pen and a rune of fire on the second BT. That way chariots and treemen have something to fear
