Tomorrow i have a match with a friend that plays The Greenskin army. We agreed that we gonna fight 1K each side. He told me he has something special 4 me this time so here s my problem and i dont really wanna lloose this one, so plis help me guys.
As so far a managed to gather a nice army with units like :
1 deamon slayer
1 rune smith
15 ironbreakers (5 of them r origynally dwarf rangers figures)
2 organ guns
I would gladly put them all out and proud but rules r rules, so would be glad to hear expert advice what to choose and what addings to give out 4 extra dmg.
What i can tell about my opponent is that he has
20 black orks ( definitly will be deployed )
1 black ork warboss
20 goblin archers
60 goblin warriors ( about )
3 goblin fanatics ( defenitly will be deployed )
thats more or less his army.
Well, first of all you need at least one hero and 2 core units. As the orc player will have little or no magic that pretty much leaves the thane. A good rune combination for the thane is as follows.
Shield, MR of swiftness, R of cleaving, R of fury and a R of stone. This will give him a good 2+ armour save but still give him an awesome few attacks. He will have 4 attacks that will always strike first at strength 5. That should be able to deal with your opponents general.
As for your core units 20 warriors with full command and shields are a must i think. You could have 19 warriors with your thane in the unit for only 338 points. For the other core unit 10 thunderers with shield would go great.
With your only rare unit an organ gun would go the best.
All that will add up to around 600 points. With the other 400 you could add in another unit of thunderers, a unit of ironbreakers, a cannon perhaps ao anything you want. I'll leave it up to you.
a unit of a few slayers would be great too, as they are unbreakeble and he has little to no shooting. they will hold up the coming orcs, goblins or things very long. if they hold the greenskin up long enough you might even be able to get a unit of thunderers in the flank or even rear. also pick your targets carefully. shooting those black orcs a couple of times will help you win the battle, and try to panic those little gobbo's.
hope it helps
