Hi there, im just posting up a list i was thinking about doing.
My plan is to t and make a competitive list, my list comprises of mainly infantry because i enjoy that kind of game more.
Dwarf Lord - 301 (with the Hammerers)
MRo Kragg the Grim
Ro Snorri Spangelhelm
Thane - 140 (with the Hammerers)
Thane - 139 (With BT)
Runesmith - 120
20 x Longbeards - 290
10 x Quarrellers - 110
10 x Thunderers - 140
1 x BT - 90
1x BT - 65
20 x Hammerers - 315
12 x Ironbreakers - 162
10x Slayers - 110
Organ Gun - 120
Gyrocopter - 140
Total - 2242
My plan is to have the Lord and BSB in the hammerers as my bad ass unit that hopefully can take on most things, but i fluff alot of dice so they probably wont . the Longbeards are there for the solid block of men that i need for SCR. Then use the other thane to protect one of the BT and the other BT to have immolation, these i feel usually give away points and it annoys me. Organ gun and slayers protect each flank. Then Thunderers and quarrellers do what they do best and shoot what i think to be a threat, then finally my Ironbreakers who i feel are there for support for whatever role i see them to have at the time.
I hope to get some input on improvements and suggestions. But what also like to know if you think that this could be a competitive list.
Cheers for reading
Thank you for the imput. You have given me some good ideas on what to change i agree with the Ironbreakers that it seems a waste in points which could be put somewhere else, i think you are also right on the hammerers missed the royal blood part . But i still think the Immolation rune is helpful because it means 1 less warmachine i have to protect, and i think its the best warmachine to blow up due to the low amount of points. Everythin else i agree on so i will change the list and have a few games with the list.
Unfortunatly your list isn't legal as you need Warriors to include Longbeards. Read their description on page 52.
Also you can't give the BSB armour runes if he has a rune standard (pg 51 right hand colomn)
Dwarfs can't necessarily flank an enemy army because of their low movement but they can certainly flank enemy units if they are positioned well enough and use terrain to their advantage.
I prefer larger untis of ironbreakers but a unit of certainly certainly could flank an enemy. Think two ranks of five and an extra two spare. Treat them a a detachment for your Long Beards or Hammerers.
To make the list legal though replace the IronBreakers with warriors.
I don't think a war machine is good enough to protect a flank. Yes they will do damage but a concentrated attack or a very fast moving enemy such as a flying monster will take even an organ gun out. Your flank is then exposed,
A better and more consistent tactic would be to use one board edge to protect one flank (i.e deploy a unit of longbeards on the far board edge so enemies trying to flank your army run into them) with your slayers and Organ gun on the other flank. This way enemies heading down the slayer flank get hit by the organ gun and then tied up by the slayers.
The extra points you save on replacing the ironbreakers I would put into beefing up your Bolt Throwers. Runes of Penetration and Runes of Burning all around are invaluable (obviously tweak them around to make it legal). Rune of Penetration gives you that extra punch to go through an entire regiment. Rune of Burning is great for taking out Regeneration monsters. Watch out for Dragon Princes though which are technically immune to flaming attacks.

hehe im sorry to say it is a legal army . If u have a dwarf lord you get a free unit of longbeards lol (page 29 under the Royal Blood) , and the BSB has not got a runic banner so can take rune armour. But i think that dwarfs can be used to flank for the simple reason that the large blocks can hold units up for so long that it gives the IB time to flank but i will try the list as it is .
But thank you for the input, i think that using the board edge as a flank protecter is good, seems so obvious now you say that lol. i also think that by making one of my BT's has pentration and burning then leaving the other one with the immolation, i tried it yesturday when some bloodcrushers attacked it and it killed 1 of the 3 made me smile so i think its a nice perk.
Cheers for the opinions more are welcome
